A week had passed and everything seemed normal. Mrs. Jane and Shin have safely returned home yesterday and they gave me a souvenir from their trip. It was a shell keychain with my name on it. They also offered a box of crinkles and cinnamon bread which was loaded with nuts as toppings. Shin and I were able to get along and I just knew that she also has the same vibe of wearing dark colors as mine. She also offered to help me in enrolling and recommended to go with her in the same school. It didn’t bother me that much, not like the fact that those people made me into a member of such eerie group they named as Black Wolves. Did it really happen on that day? How did things drastically from moving way form my home to entering a group of scandalous and haughty men and a woman. The fact that she had me in approval of joining them, it was a bit astray and bewildered. I could still remember how she looked me like a nonentity, how her dread actions have made me shivered from stopping me in seeking help with the authorities. I wanted to say no. I don’t want to deal with them, but they left me without a choice. It may seemed as cliché, but they did threaten me that they would harm those who’re dear to me especially my Mother. I was baffled in a pit that is hard to get out I already slapped my self several times, hoping that it would be just a mere bad dream. But I guessed those rigid clouts were not enough to make me wake up that this is now the veracity that I took myself in. There isn’t any update from them, which I am truly thankful and would continue to hope that they won’t contact me. The memory I have with them was deeply sunken inside my head as they told me that I will be expecting to join our very first mission. I rubbed my face hard, making it blemished. I was frustrated. I rolled over my bed and sluggishly sat on the edge. I grabbed my phone as my eyes were dropping to sleep again. Turning it on, there isn’t a single message from anyone to read. It’s still six in the evening, but the weather is not that good either to start the day. I didn’t get enough sleep. Margarita was talking with Mrs. Jane yesterday near my door, late at night. Their voices were maddening that they can be their own sirens when something bad will happen in this place. Lurid laughter had encircled the place as they enjoyed their conversation. They didn’t intend to be anxious with the others who’re already taking their rest. To them, this is their place and they are the rulers. This month is also about to end, yet I still didn’t have the time and chance to get myself enrol in a school. Why am I so f****d up lately? I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. It’s not like your life is as good as before, Amber. I scoffed at the idea in going home and make things clear again especially to those whom I owe some apologies, even if I, in return had the notion that they wont forgive me at all. It was hopeless after all or maybe I’m just a coward who doesn’t want to face the past and make things right. I bit my lip as I felt the hunger rumbling inside my stomach. There was a low calm knocks on my door. Who’s so eager to come in my place, early this morning? I stood up and grabbed my slippers on. Rubbing my eyes, I went to the door to open. There was no one there. I glanced over both directions, but the road was empty. A stray cat hissed at me as it carried along a dead rat in its mouth, rushing towards the corner where a damp of plastic bags filled with trash were placed. My eyes reverted to my feet and saw a box wrapped with a white cloth. I knelt down and carefully picked it up. It was a bit heavy that I didn’t expect it. I took a glance once more to the surrounding and made sure that there was no one around, then I closed the door and returned to my room. I gently placed the box on top of my table and stared for it for a while. Is it a bomb? Or it’s just a worthless prank made by those guys? There isn’t even a card that was placed for me to consider who had sent it. My fingers traveled to the helm and carefully pulled the cloth that was tied up into a ribbon. I slowly opened the box and in a sudden gaze, I stumbled on the floor and covered my mouth that was opened wide in tremor with my hands. It was a pistol. I immediately stood and closed it. I watched the window that was open and I paced to it and directly closed it. My heart was pounding loud. Even I could consider myself as a ditching A hole, I’ve never seen a gun or held one not until now. My breath was tedious. I took a minute to cool myself down, then I decided to open it once again. I hurdled when my phone suddenly burst in ringing in full volume. I forgot to lower it down when I was listening to music last night with my headphones. I freaked out and directly answered the caller without seeing who it is. “Did you like my present?” A man with a husky voice said over the line. “Who are you?” I promptly answered. “It hurts that you don’t even remember my voice even if we had a great time last week in the club.” His voice suddenly change into a dramatic one and I could imagine him touching his chest, acting like he was really hurt like an i***t. I rolled my eyes and scoffed. “Oh, I’m sorry. You called the wrong number. Goodbye-” I was about to turn off the call when he immediately responded. “I know it’s you, Amber Kate Madison. Hell, yeah. Go turn off you phone and the moment you do, you will receive a message that your Mother…and oh let’s include your precious dog, have already left our Motherland for good.” He calmly said and a chuckle was added in the end. Clenching my hand, my fingers dug deeply on my flesh. Is he fooling around again? “What do you want?” “I need you this afternoon at exactly four. You know where to find us. We’ll begin your first drill later.” He didn’t wait for my response and immediately hang up the call. Is there no chance to turn back time? Is this the way how I wanted? I tapped my right hand on the bed, letting the time ticked its own. Guessed this served me right. I took a deep breath out of nuisance. I’m Amber Kate after all, the girl who will not be tamed and will not bow down to anyone. I will stand still no matter what. I made my usual look – not to care at all. I’ll let things go and I’ll play with it. But, I will make sure that I’ll be the last one to stand. I made my breakfast – fired garlic rice, ham and bacons and lemonade juice. I also made an egg sandwich for me to later on enjoy when I’ll be going there. I made sure that I will come there prepared. After taking my meal, I went to the kitchen sink to wash the dishes and then immediately took a fine bath to relax myself. The water is cold, just like I want it. It took me a while when I decided to go out from the bathroom. Opening my drawer, I was able to put all my clothes neatly inside it. I was between choosing my long sleeves from grey to dark green one. But I ended myself in wearing the dark green. And as usual, I wore my faded black jeans. I combed my hair. Looking over my phone, I thought of trying to call Bailey and ask if she’s doing fine. I was able to change my number back before I went here, yet I was able to put up in mind their personal contact numbers. But I was overwhelmed with the recollection of what happened to us that had shattered our precious bond. I sighed and slowly lose the hope of getting in touch with her. I wished I was as braved as you, Bailey. There isn’t an important task to do in the morning, that I ended up in taking most of my time to wait and just watch videos over my phone. Every second that is coming, I could feel my heart beating louder and louder. I knew totally that I was getting anxious. I could feel my own knees wavered in such havoc. I really don’t know what they’re up to, but I could clearly sense that it is something that’s loathsome. And then it really came fast. I saw myself walking to back to their place where they have taken me – Andy’s Night Club. The established is still closed. I saw them in a circle in the right corner of building. They were wearing their usual leathered jackets and tight black jeans. I recognized Gabriella who was leaning her back on the wall as her hands were under her pockets. Shadow was standing and was facing her. I couldn’t see his face clearly, but rather the smoke that is coming from him. Stage was busy with his phone, sitting on the ground. Horn and Sharp were chatting with each other but is somehow getting into a misunderstanding. Horn was crossing his arm, while Sharp was scratching head, eyebrows met to each other as he tried to explain something. I saw Stage raised his head and identified me coming in their way with a poker face. I was wearing a black cap and I decided not to bring my back today, putting my phone inside my pocket. He called his friend and told them that I have arrived. Everyone looked to my direction and it was then, I have seen him smirked once again. A whistle came from Horn. As soon as I stood in front of them, Shadow spoke. “Did you bring the thing that I give you?” I shook my head which made him glared. “No. Obviously, I’m not bringing me with my bag.” I replied. I heard the woman hysterically laughed at us and walked beside Stage. “I told you, she sucked. You should have believed me in the first place. Now, what should we do?” Shayne pulled his hair and tucked his tongue up. “Damnit. Just forget it! Give me yours.” He furiously said and signalled her to give the thing. “What?! Why would I give it to you?!” The man thwarted and vehemently snatched her sling bag and pulled out the gun. I gasped as soon as I saw it again, taking several steps away from it. I saw Stage smirked at me, now giving me the attention. “Don’t tell me it’s your first?” He teased. “It’s apparently her first.” Sharp added. “Whether it’s her first or not, I really don’t care.” Shadow coldly stated. He walked to me and offered the gun. “Take it.” I stared at it, but we was not in the mood of being tolerant. “Take it or I’ll use it to shoot you.” Hearing those words rang a bell on my ear and I directly took it from him. He was dead serious and I knew that he can do such thing in any time and anywhere. He’s a living demon that is hard to kill together with the others. “W-What will I do with this thing?” Shadow walked behind me. I saw Stage grinned menacingly. Gabriella and Sharp were smirking. “We’re going to rob a watch store.” It was my starting point of the hell journey I just made. And it was how my life really started…it was changed that I couldn’t get myself back to my old self. The old Amber Kate Madison had put herself into a deep sleep that is somehow pointless to try to be awaken once again. And for the last time…I cried in fear.
