Chapter 2

"Aren't you excited?" Alpha Drakon asked, baring his teeth in an unsettling smile.

Seraphina shifted on her feet, discomfort clouding her eyes. He had a habit of making inappropriate jokes like this ever since she was a pup.

She thought that he had relented recently but turns out it was just her own hopeful imagination.

"I'm hardly worthy of being a maid in this pack house, much less your concubine." She said and he waved his hand with a dismissive flair.

"Nonsense! Of course you're worthy after all...." He paused gauging her reaction, "... you're an Alpha blood too,"

Seraphinas's jaw dropped, "Alpha Drakon, I–"

"That's the truth," he said far too casually, leaning back and scratching his beard, "You see, it was about ten years ago..."

Seraphina listened intensely to every word that dropped from the Alpha's lips, each syllable sending her down a spiral.

"We have no choice! It's that pup's life or ours!"

"But what kind of pack would we be if we couldn't protect our own?"

"Alpha dracon is a madman! If we defy him will have hell to pay!"

Nearly a decade ago chaos flooded the meeting hall of Lunar Bane, voices toppled over one another through the table, Luna Vespara bit her bottom lip until she tasted blood watching her mate trying and failing to placate that Elders of their pack, Lunar Bane had her down to her last nerve.

"Enough!" She growled, her Luna aura emanating and forcing even the most stubborn of Elders back down seated and quiet.

"We're getting nowhere, this meeting is adjourned!" She sighed out exasperatedly, "We'll come to a final decision at our next minute but for now..." She side eyed her mate who was looking at the floor like it held all the answers, "...let's think long and hard about the decision that we must make,"

Soon the Elders filed out of the meeting Hall, leaving just the two of them.

"Honey..."Vespera shifted her chair closer to her mate's the furniture screeching against the floor until it was right beside him, "say something... anything," she begged while fearing the answer she knew she would receive.

"When it comes to having his way that man has no limits, if he declares war on us we might be able to give him a good fight but..." Alpha Leon's voice wobbled, "... that bastard doesn't know when to quit, he will coming after us until he finally subjugates us he doesn't care how much blood in it to spill,"

Luna Vespara sucked in a deep breath; "honey, what are you trying to say?"

Alpha Leon looked away from her eyes, guilt eating away at him. "No matter how I look at it... It doesn't even matter what choice we make, as long as this man doesn't give up on her our time with our daughter is now limited,"

Hot tears pooled up in Luna Vespera's eyes, but she was forced to aggressively wipe them away with the back of her hand when Seraphina suddenly burst into the meeting room with a broad smile behind her was how old nanny trying to keep up with the overactive pop while simultaneously not also dislocating her hip.

"Little Lady!" The aged nanny called out, but Seraphina had already reached her mother and thrown her arms around her waist.

"Mommy! Mommy!!" Seraphina screamed all giddy, so innocently unaware that just minutes ago in this very room her parents and the Elders of the Lunar Bane had come to the half conscious acceptance that they'd lose her, the only Alpha heiress to a mad war monger.

She was only eight, but he demanded to take her as his newest concubine. Plucking up a young pup from her home and family then systematically stripping away her innocence was his favorite past time. Nobody could lift a finger against him, at least nobody tried anymore, like their alpha is warriors where deranged and blood thirsty too, always eager to head straight into war.

Seraphina 's parents were already very caring but became even more dotting as the days until the next meeting approached. Her father with easily buy her any toy or dress that she wanted sometimes before she even asked, her mother would take the young pup hunting something she had been delaying before but now she wanted seraphina to have that good memory.

Finally the night before the meeting arrived, before they would have to make a decision that they would never forgive themselves for. Seraphina 's parents invited her to sleep in their bed something that they hadn't done in years, Raven a little brother also joined in on the family cuddle.

All of them went to sleep not to knowing what I waited with them deep into the night, it happened that just a few hours later the Park House was set on fire by Alpha Drakon's men, he'd gotten tired of waiting and decided to take Seraphina by force.

The ensuing chaos of the fire separated seraphina and her parents, alpha Drakon had his Men fish her out of the fire nearly half dead from smoke inhalation, she was treated and when she woke up so deeply traumatized by water to happen that she could not remember or recall the past anymore.

Before alpha Drakon could tell had a truth of who she really was he was summoned by his personal seer who warned him that he would lose everything if he slept with the child.

Alpha drink was frustrated since he had gone through so much efforts to bring this little girl to his pack so he lied to her that her parents were omegas and made her an Omega maid.

"Now you are finally an adult so I can get a return on my investment, I want to have you as soon as you turn eighteen," he licked his lips, "... as freshly as possible,"

He got up, stepping closer she instinctively created a gap between them and he grunted; "I've been patient for nearly a decade now, so don't even think of running away now or else..."

Alpha Drakon tried to touch her cheek but someone grabbed his wrist midair declaring loudly; "Don't you dare touch her!"
