Seraphina took in a shaky breath as she stood at the edge of the capital square, watching the circus setting up their stage in the open park.
Niko stood beside her as they waited for Rosette and Emyr to signal them for their time to escape the circus.
"Hey, Red," Niko said quietly, nudging her with his shoulder to make her look up at him.
"What Nik?" She asked with a sigh.
"What's on your mind?" He asked with a concerned note to his voice.
She sighed, knowing that he could see right through her and underneath his jesting exterior, and tricks, and sarcasm, Seraphina knew that he cared a lot for those he loved.
