Chapter 2

Whatever I was thinking was all gone in a flash as I stared into the face of my older brother Quintavious. I was shocked that he even dared to come near me, let alone kidnap me. “I have been keeping a very close eye on you dear sister,” he said as he walked around me in circles. “Oh yeah, for how long, because I can recall you getting arrested a couple of months ago, and you were sentenced to life in prison and from the looks of it and correct me if I am wrong it looks like you have escaped dear brother.” I said as I watched his every move closely. I had already gotten my hands out of the duct tape he used to tie me up with. “f*****g Ameture” I thought as I escaped from the bonds that were holding me down. “I see that you managed to escape your bondings that I put on you.” Quintavious said. “At least dad taught you well.” he continued. I knew he was going to bring this subject up. “Dad did not teach me anything but how much he f*****g hated me because I was a f*****g girl!” I snapped back at him. “And on top of that, you were not even there when he was beating the s**t out of me and mom. Because you were off doing s**t for dad. You never cared about what happened to me or to mom or even to our brother Franklin!” I had done it now. I had touched a nerve, a subject that was tough for both of us. But at the moment, I did not give a f**k because I was not finished. “The only male out of our entire family who actually gave a f**k about mine and mom’s well-being was Franklin! Why the f**k do you think he was working with the Diamond mafia? HUH? He was trying to take dad down. Not only that but Franklin was trying to take you down along with him. Yet you killed Franklin when he cornered you and you also killed mom. Right in front of me. I bet you didn’t take it into consideration that not only was Franklin working for the Diamond mafia, but so was mom, and they knew of your plans to kill me and mom and Franklin, but they had come up with a plan with my adoptive father to protect me from you for a really long time.” I finished in exasperation. Something in Quintavious’ eyes flashed after I got done with what I was saying. Was it guilt? Pity? Or was it sorrow? As I was wondering what his actual feelings were, his voice cut through my thoughts: “I never meant to traumatize you and I most definitely never wanted to kill Franklin or our mother. I did care about you and Mom and Franklin,” he told me with tears in his eyes. He continued, “Dad kicked me and Franklin out because he knew that we would be the most dangerous to him when it came to beating his ass whenever he hit you, for no reason at all when all you wanted was candy or a cheap toy or a pretty dress, but you always had a knack for finding the cheapest things and would ask for them and whenever dad would tell you no you would never ask again, but mom tried to get you candy and every time she got caught dad would wait until we got home, and he would tell me and Franklin to go inside, and I would find ways to sneak out of the house and past the cameras to make sure that he was not beating you black and blue but every time he did me and Franklin would go to Carmine. And Carmine had actually adopted all of us.” Whatever I was thinking at the moment was not that, as my jaw dropped.
