Chapter ThirteenBy the time I made it back to the room, my head was spinning so bad that I could barely keep focused. I knew I should have gone to check on the Winterwood Book. Instead, I found myself stumbling towards the bathroom. Nausea coiled in my stomach so violently that I felt like I was going to puke my gut up, but before I could make it to the toilet, I caught sight of myself in the mirror over the sink. My skin was so pale, even compared to my usual porcelain complexion. I was so white that my skin was almost translucent, and my eyes were quickly drawn to the darkness at the edges of my nostrils. Instinctively I raised my hand and wiped my nose. The back of my hand came away crimson with two messy streaks of blood, and I stumbled back from the sink. “What the hell?” I gasped
