A few days later, Zulfiqar met with Saba Malik, a promising young medical student who had been volunteering at his clinic. Saba had shown a natural talent for connecting with patients, explaining complex medical issues in a way that made sense to them. Zulfiqar saw in her the perfect partner for his project.
Saba had been frustrated recently. "It’s not just about treating the disease," she said over coffee, "it’s about helping people understand what’s happening to their bodies." She recounted a story about a patient who had been misdiagnosed because they’d relied on internet searches and folk remedies. By the time they’d come to the clinic, their condition had worsened.
Zulfiqar nodded. "That’s exactly why I want to write this book," he said. "We need to give people the tools to understand their symptoms before it’s too late."
Saba’s eyes lit up. "A handbook? In simple language? That sounds like something we should have had a long time ago."
"Exactly," Zulfiqar replied. "I need your help to make it happen. You have a gift for breaking things down simply."
Without hesitation, Saba agreed. "Let’s do it. Let’s give people the knowledge they need." And just like that, Saba became a co-author of Tashkhees, bringing her fresh perspective and enthusiasm to the project.
