Alison POV:
“No, no, no, no, what’s happening?” I said and started to tug at my hair. I felt confused. All this new information was spinning in my head and to top it off I had no idea how I got into this cave, where were we? I didn't even notice my ragged breathing before Jackson grabbed my face in his hands. “Hey calm down everything's fine” Jackson’s soothing voice helped a little bit but now my head was spinning because of two reasons. “I can’t be the child to the Moon Goddess” I started to wish someone would wake me up from this crazy dream. I would wake up in my bed and feel safe and everything would be like it always was. My mom secretly hating me, my dad still loving me but not having that much time for me, my best friend would be beside me and I wouldn’t have a mate.
“Sorry I can’t” I said while grabbing Jackson's hands away from my face. Even if I really didn’t mind his touch -which I should- I need to think straight. “Where are we?” I asked Teresa because I couldn’t handle Jackson’s intense stare. I realized Jackson regaining his composure, he probably forgot we weren’t alone. “We are somewhere inside of the cliff, we- or I at least came with that stream” Teresa said and pointing at one of the streams coming into this cave. “So I guess we swim?” I asked unsure of my plan. “I don’t think that’s the best idea” Teresa said and stopped her mindless pacing. “But I did inform a crew that I was gonna jump of a cliff maybe they're coming after us?” Teresa finished her conclusion with tapping her fist in her open hand. “I really hope so” I said fiddling with my fingers, a nervous habit of mine.
“Oh gosh Jackson is your head okay” Teresa exclaimed I looked up at Teresa and followed her gaze to the side of Jackson’s head. I reached up for his chin and tilted it away from my face to get a better view. His head was bleeding he had a little hole on the upper side of his head. It looked like he had smashed his head on something pointy. I realized a little gasp while ushering him to sit down in front of me. Teresa had walked beside me while I examined the wound. “Did you hit your head on something?” I asked him only to realize he had his eyes glued on my face. I bit my lower lip feeling a little pressured by his gaze. “Underneath the cliff there were rocks sticking out of the sea I guess he must have hit his head there” I frowned at Teresa’s statement. I knelt in front of Jackson so I was closer to a eye level with him. “Why did you jump anyway? Wait how did we get here?” I felt like the only thing I have done since I woke up is asking. “Well there was a rogue attack and you disappeared right when it happened, then Jackson and your dad basically order everyone to seek for you but I didn’t get to leave the pack house which was really unfair you know” Teresa sent a death glare to Jackson who clearly was unaffected by it. “After awhile Jackson had disappeared too and we could only smell you two on the cliff plus the place stank from rogues so I basically started to panic because I thought they kidnapped you. But then again we didn’t find any signs of kidnapping so that was a relief” Teresa stopped her rambling only to release a big breath, she started to ramble again but I decided to block her out and start helping Jackson for a change.
I ripped a piece of my dress so I could try to stop the bleeding. “Are you even listening!” Teresa’s yelling snapped me out of my concentrated state. I gave her a silly smile as an apology. “I can’t believe you guys” She folded her arms across her breast and started to pout like a little girl that didn’t get her way. I chuckled at her antics and switched my focus on Jackson’s wound again.
I dabbed at it lightly so I could see if it was still bleeding heavily, but clearly I wasn’t dabbing lightly enough because Jackson cringed and flinched away from my touch. “Sorry” My apology came out more as a whisper. I reached with my other hand to cup his cheek so I could more accurately know how much pressure was needed. To my relief the wound wasn’t as bad as it first looked but it still needed some stitches. “Your wound isn’t that bad but it I think it would be smart to take some stitches” I talked in a hushed voice mostly to myself but so that they could still hear me. I looked at Jackson to see if he was listening to what I was saying. Only to realize he was gazing at my lips. I didn’t realize our position up until now.
I was kneeling in between his legs so it created the illusion that I was taller.
All logic thinking flew out the window when his heated gaze met mine. He grabbed my hips pulling me slightly closer. I started to lean in but we were rudely interrupted by someone clearing their voice loudly. “You know I’m still here right?” Teresa was glaring at the two of us now. “You know if you want me to leave that badly you could have just said, I don’t want to be the witness of you two going hot and heavy” Teresa said oh so matter-of-factly. I quickly backed out of the situation with my cheeks burning. Jackson and Teresa were both glaring at each other now with a uncomfortable tension building up. “Okay maybe we should start to think of a escape in case someone doesn’t come here to rescue us” I started which luckily stopped their glaring contest. “What do you suggest?” Jackson’s voice was really husky which made me want to jump him right here and now. But I shook my head so I could get all my dirty thoughts away. “You will stay here and rest your head while me and Teresa will check how powerful the stream is” He clearly didn’t like my suggestion but surprisingly he still listened to me.
Me and Teresa started to walk towards the stream that she had pointed at. “I feel like it’s really going to take some time to get used to your new position” Teresa said while looking at the ground. My wha-? Oh right.
“It really isn’t going to change anything you know” I say and grab her hand reassuringly. She gives me a weak smile but then shakes her head lightly. “You probably don’t notice but your aura is like really intimidating. And the way you just said what we were going to do held so much authority in it” I widened my eyes at her, I really didn’t mean to do that. “I did? Sorry I didn’t mean to” We stopped at the edge of the shore. I feel like it would be the smartest to shift to wolf and swim in a triangle formation, maybe the stream wouldn’t be that strong if we helped each other.
“Look!” Teresa was pointing towards the tunnel where we came from. There was a faint light coming towards us. I felt a little relief but I still held my stance just in case.
There were three jet skis -that our pack owned -coming towards us. Luca was on the first one and two other warrior wolves were on the two other one. Teresa squealed in joy and started to jump up and down while I just waved at them.
I felt Jackson’s presence before he even touched me, he snaked his arm around my waist and pulled me into him.
Weirdly I didn’t even protest. Maybe it was because I felt more like on with my wolf and she of course wanted to just be with him. I wonder if that has anything to do with being Moon daughter. Wow it still sounds weird.
“Are you all okay?” Luca raised his voice so he would be heard over the machines. “We’re mostly fine but Jackson has a wound on his head!” Teresa answered. They all came to the shore so we could reach them better. “Luca can I drive that jet with Jackson?” Normally I would have just gone on Luca’s jet but I really didn’t want to leave my mate with one of the warriors. “Why can’t you just come with me? He won’t die if he goes with Peter or Robert”.
I don’t know what came over me but I felt weirdly possessive over Jackson. “It wasn’t a request Luca” I didn’t care that my wolf had slightly taken over me, I just really didn’t want to leave him yet. Luca looked a little taken back but didn’t say against me. I climbed on the jet with Jackson right behind me. He moved so close that there was no space between us with his head on my shoulder. “That was hot” I felt Jackson breathe in my ear which made some pleasant shivers run down my spine. I smiled to myself and started the engine again.
