Chapte Six: "You look like s**t," Chloe stated. "Thank you, captain obvious," I sarcastically said, rolling my eyes. It was true. My eyes were all red and puffy with black eyebags under it. My face was red and flush and my hair looked like a bird's nest. She rolled her eyes. "Sorry but the truth hurts, hunny." I rolled my eyes "You got that right," I mumbled. Jasmine sighed. "Chloe, just please shut up." "What, me? Shut up? I'm just saying the truth!" She gasped. "But it's so freaking annoying," Jasmine stated. Chloe huffed. "Fine, whatever." Jasmine hugged me. "I'm really sorry, Kris. If I was there I would've punched him straight on the face." I chuckled, for the first time in a day. "Thanks, Jaz. You're an awesome friend. And yeah, I would've liked it a lot if you have punched him but now it’s too late." "It's never too late - " I gave her the disapproving look. "- oh my god," She gasped. I looked at her confused. "Chloe, can you leave us alone for a while?" Jasmine asked nicely. "But why?" Chloe whined. "Go," Jasmine glared. Chloe eyed us suspiciously before shrugging and leaving my room. "What was that all about?" I asked Jasmine. "You like him," Jasmine said in as a matter-of-fact tone. My eyes widen in surprise. "What? No!" I tried to sound persuasive. "That is preposterous." She smirked. "You like him," She said again. "Jasmine, seriously, I don't like him," I sighed. "Stop denying it, bub. I know that you know that I know that you like him," She said quickly. I gave her a confused look. "What? I did not understand that. Please speak like a normal being please. And what are you now, a matchmaker?" She grinned. "A matchmaker, I am!" She said proudly. "Trust me with this, Kris. I know that you two will get together one day." I shook my head in disapproval. "I find that so hard to believe." She raised her eyebrow. "Not that we're going to get together or anything," I quickly added. She laughed. "You're one weird child." "You're the one to speak," I mumbled. She took off my blanket from me and put her hands on her hips. "Hey!" I exclaimed. "Get up," She ordered. "No," I stubbornly said. "Get up," She repeated. I sighed. "You bossy little bit - " "Language," She warned. "You little son of a bread who needs a boyfriend," I muttered. "And so do you and guess what, I already found out who it should be.” "You're no Cupid," I groaned. "Honey, Cupid is my grandfather." I snorted. "Now, go get dressed and let me get you all dolled up. We are going on a date together at the mall and the park," She said. My eyes buldged out. "With me looking like this? And what are we going to do there in the first place?” "Honey, I will have you beautiful in no time,” she smirked. “And no questions, just go! Chop, chop!” She said sternly. I sighed and took her word. "Fine." I took a quick, warm shower and got changed into dark grey shorts and a floral tank top that's tucked in my shorts. I also wore my black cardigan just in case it got chilly. I walked out of the bathroom, finding Jasmine lying down on my bed while watching E News. "Done," I announced. She eyed me up and down carefully and stood up. "Follow me." She walked towards my bathroom and she ordered me to sit. After an hour and a half of work, she's finally finished with my make-up and hair. Since I couldn't see and she wouldn't let me turn the mirror around, I was getting agitated to see whether or not there will be a difference. "Turn around now," She said happily. I turned around and gasped. My face was no longer red and puffy from all of that crying, and my hair was neatly curled. My make-up wasn't too heavy and it looked completely natural, perfectly hiding away my red, puffy face. It was perfect. "I know, I know, I'm amazing," She boasted. I shook my head. "You are a goddess." "No, honey, you are. You look amazing." I grinned. "All thanks to you." ~ "So, where exactly are we going?" I asked her for the hundreth time. She shrugged. "Now I don't feel like malling nor going to the mall." I groaned. "Then what are we doing?" She thought for a second. "Starbucks." I grinned mischievously. "I like that idea." She beamed. "Starbucks buddy!" We arrived at Starbucks and I ordered my favorite Caramel Frappuccino with cream and lots of caramel on top, and without coffee while Jasmine ordered her chosen beverage. We took a seat by the window. "So, why are you angry at Josh?" She started. I tensed up. "Well, he lied to me." She looked confused. "How did he lie to you?" "He never told me that he was a Johnson," I stated. "Don't you think that's a bit unfair for him? What happens if he just wanted to know you first and think that you're not just after his riches?" I looked at her and gasped. "Why would he think that I'm those types of girls?" Jasmine scratched the back of her neck. "Well, Josh kind of had a bad relationship in the past. He thought that she was the one but then she just used him for his money. Maybe that's why he's trying to protect himself." I gasped again. Why had I been so selfish? Josh is a nice guy - nowhere near his brother, that’s for sure - and I totally did not see it. However, I just can't be in a relationship right now. I just can't. Our drinks arrived and I thanked the guy. Well that's new. Someone delivering you the drinks don't usually happen. "Dude, he was totally checking you out," Jasmine stated. I glared at her. "Was not." "Was too." "Not." "Too." "Not." "Too - " "Stop it!" I groaned. We stayed in silence as we sipped the straws every now and then. "I just realized," Jasmine started, "Both Johnson's are into you." I gave her another glare. "He's my boss and he's a friend of mine." "He's your lover." "What happened to Chloe?" I changed the subject. She shrugged. "How would I know." This got me thinking. Why would Jasmine say ever say anything like that? But however, "Which one?" I whispered, referring to my 'lover'. She just smirked and drank her drink.
