Chapter Two

Chapter Two: It has been a month now and I'm still working at J.M.I. and every single day was like hell. He wouldn't say 'please' or 'excuse me' or even a normal 'thank you' when he does or asks for things. It's so frustrating! Does this man even know any manners? Did his parents even teach him any manners at all? I groaned as I rubbed my temples while waiting for his coffee. Luckily, I don't 'live' in his office anymore and I have my own desk just right outside of his office where I can't see him unless the curtain blinds on his office window is pulled up, which, is never. "Rough hour?" A familiar voice asked. I nodded. "He still hasn't thanked me for anything yet," I complained. Josh chuckled. "Don't take it too personally, alright? He's the boss and he has the right to do anything," He reminded me. "He's an ass," I mumbled. He laughed harder than he already has, causing people to look at us curiously. I blushed, not liking the attention. "You're an ass, too, Josh," I added. He pouted. "Hey, I'm not in this!" He whined like a 6 year old. I patted his arm and pretended to be sorry for him. "Whatever you say, kid." With that, I took the coffee and walked away from his pouting face with a smirk on mine. Gotta love annoying Josh. It was a passion of mine. I knocked on the door and walked in the devil's office, carefully placing his coffee on his table. He was preoccupied with the phone, groaning about something. I stood there patiently, trying to eavesdrop to what they're talking about and also waiting for something to do since he hasn't set me up with anything. "Yes, don't worry, mom, I'll be there," He groaned. I heard a ruffled voice on the other line. "I will definitely not bring a date!" He groaned stubbornly. ... "Mom, I'm 24, I can take care of myself nicely, thank you very much," He muttered. Wait, he's only 24? He's only 3 years older than me but how come he's already reached this far in business? "Fine, I'll bring someone to the party," He finally gave up. "Bye, mom. I love you too." He said quietly and hung up on the phone and he buried his head in his hands. ‘At least he knows how to love his parents,’ I thought bitterly. I cleared my throat. "Is there anything else you want, Mr. Johnson?" I asked him. He nodded. "Just cancel my appointment with Mr. Gonzales tomorrow in the afternoon," He said. "But the Gonzales Enterprise would bring this company higher than it already - " "- And when you've finished that, file the files over there and after that, you may be free to go home." I stood there in shock. Did he just ask me to cancel one of the most important meetings he'll have this month and I interjected him? I nodded and left the room without a word, feeling small because he didn't even listen to a word I said. This boy is driving me crazy, and not in a good way. After cancelling and filing, I was finally free to go. I can't wait until I get home! I'm feeling like ice cream, or even a gelato. On the lobby, I heard someone running from behind me. "Kristine!" A brunette, yelled. I remembered her face. She has brown eyes with light brown hair that suits her tanned skin. "Hey, Jasmine, what's up?" I asked her. "I was just wondering if you wanted to come with Chloe and I to a bar tonight?" She wondered. Chloe is a sweetheart. She wasn't a crazy girl 'fangirling' over Mr. Johnson, like Jasmine, and I'm very thankful for that. I thought about going with them. I needed a night out and this is probably one of the opportunities I have to have a night out with people. "Sure, just text me the details. You have my number, right?" I said. She nodded and grinned. "Alright, I'll see you there!" I made my way out of the building and was surprised to get struck with the breeziness of New York. 'Great,' I thought, 'Just when I forget my coat.' I sighed as I shivered through my 'business-like' attire. This definitely sucks since I had to walk and catch the train to get home. Why is life so hard at times? I started my way walking to the underground train station, keeping my head down at all times from exhaustion. I shivered again from the coldness of the air. "Why does mother nature hate me?" I asked myself. I finally got in the train and sighed. 'It may smell like crap in here, at least it's warm enough for me,' I thought as I ran my hands up and down my shoulders. ~ "Please pick up, pick up, pick up," I chanted as I tried calling my mom on the phone. "Sorry, the number you have dialled is not available at this moment. Please try and call again later," The machine said. I groaned and threw my phone on the bed, bouncing on my bed. My phone vibrated and I instantly took it. It was a text message. 'Hey meet u outside of ur apartment at 7. Not telling where were going cuz I have no idea. See ya x' Jasmine texted. How'd they know my apartment? And also, I thought she planned this? I looked at the clock and it was 5:30 p.m. Good, at least I still have some time to get ready. 'Alright, you know my apartment?' I texted her back. I looked around the room and panicked, not knowing what I should do. 'Of course ;) bye!' She replied back. I decided not to text her and I made my way to the dresser, opening it up and searching for the perfect dress for a nightclub. I stuck with a black halter dress that just flowed on my mid-thigh. I went and grabbed my red pumps to make me look naughty, which I'm pretty sure the boys will like. Also, I applied natural colored make-up with red lips that isn’t too bold that screams out 'kiss me', it is just acceptable and sexy. I decided to not wear any accessories, just making myself look 'innocent'. I left my hair down in its natural wavy curls. I heard a car horn downstairs and I looked out of the window, seeing a yellow taxicab parked on the curb. I quickly grabbed my clutch that had my phone and wallet in, and I also grabbed my black leather coat, quickly wearing it, and walking downstairs. I walked towards the taxi, seeing Jasmine and Chloe inside. "Hey guys," I greeted them, getting in the car. "Hey," They said in unison. There was an awkward tension in the air. "So," Chloe broke the tension. "How's life with the 'hottie'?" She asked. I pulled a disgusted face. "Horrible." She chuckled. "I look up to you, Kristine." "Why's that?" I asked curiously. "You always get the evils from nearly the whole population of the office's women and just shrug it off like you don't even care. I would've ripped my head off if I were in your position," She explained. "Oh," I said, not knowing what to say. "I guess I just keep it professional." There was silence. "So, where are we going?" I asked them. They both shrugged. "I just asked the cab driver to drop us off at the most 'hottest' night club in town since this is really our first time going," Chloe said sheepishly, starting to get pale. So it's their first time too? What a coinky dink. "It's mine, too," I told them. They looked at me shocked. "What?" I asked. Jasmine shook her head. "It's just, you know, you seem like the type to party all the time," She turned red from embarrassment. I chuckled. "Well, nope," I popped my 'p'. I leaned in closer to them. "I haven't even had my first kiss yet," I winked at them, going back to my seat. "No way!" Chloe gasped. "Yes way," I confirmed. "Have you ever had a boyfriend?" Jasmine asked. I nodded. "Yeah, but I have boundaries, you know?" I told them, shrugging. Silence. "So, are we going to party hard or what?" Jasmine asked cheerfully. "Yeah!" Chloe and I chimed in unison. I definitely needed to have a girl's night out and away from that hell hole excuse of work. We have arrived at our destination; a large number of people were waiting in line for them to get in. "How are we going to get in with that large number of people?" I squeaked. Jasmine smirked. "Don't worry," She winked. We got off of the cab, paying the driver our fare as we split the money up. Chloe wrapped her arm around me and Jasmine wrapped hers around my other arm, making me be in the middle and dragging me along the front of the line. "Hey! Get your lazy asses to the back of the line!" The person who was supposed to be next complained. I shot him an apologetic look. Jasmine smiled at the scary, muscled bouncer and he took the rope off of the pole, letting us in. Unbelievable. He didn't even ask for our I.D's! What is happening? "What was that?" I asked Chloe, yelling a little because the volume of the music was getting louder and louder when we're getting near our destination. I stopped when we reached the dance floor. This place is amazing! The lights were this type of blue that was close to the blue sky and the ocean when it's green from far away. The people were dancing everywhere and the music just fits the whole theme of the club. This place is definitely a club that is worth the wait. "It's Jasmine's," Chloe shouted through the loud music. My eyes widen and I instantly shot Jasmine a look that I don't even know what I gave her. It was probably mixed with shock, amazement, and relief. Relief, well, because I know that I'll be somewhat safe in the club - if that makes any sense. Wait, so if this is Jasmine's then she has been to a club! She tricked me good. She blushed. "Let's look for a hottie, shall we?" Jasmine offered. I heard Chloe say something that sounded like, "And I thought you had a boyfriend." I chuckled lightly. That's true. We sat down on the black leather booths in the corner. I looked around the place. There were a lot of heated, dirty dancing but that wasn't the thing that caught my eye. I cannot believe that Mr. Johnson was here. I stared at him. His soft-looking chestnut brown hair was still in his messy style, making the girls knees weak - literally. His eyes were glued to his iPhone, probably doing work like he usually does. He quickly looked towards my direction, making me quickly look down and get fascinated on the wooden table in front of me. "I sense a boy here!" Jasmine sang. "Who is he? What time?" "Huh?" Chloe and I asked confusedly in unison. Jasmine rolled her eyes. "12 'o clock, etcetera," She explained. I shook my head. "No boy, I promise, but the thing is, Mr. Johnson is in your club. 9 o’clock." Both Jasmine and Chloe turned around. "Guys!" I yelled. They both turned around towards me again. "What do you think he's doing here?" Chloe asked. Jasmine shrugged. "I don't really know but you know what, whatever. We're here to have a good time and we're going to use this Friday night for fun!" She grinned. "That's right!" I smiled at her. I stood up and looked at the bar that's calling my name for a 's*x on the beach'. "Do you guys want anything?" I asked them both. "I'll get something later. I just need to go to the toilet first," Chloe said. "Yeah, me too. I'll be right back," Jasmine said, standing up. "Meet us here, okay?" I nodded. "Okay." I made my way across the seats towards the bar, avoiding the drunk dancing people on the dance floor. I sat down on one of the high stools and waited for a waiter to come. "So I've never seen a pretty faced like you come to this bar," The bartender flirted. He was a skinny guy with a pierced tongue, nose, ears, and eyebrows. I have nothing against these types of men but they just aren't 'my cup of tea' in men. I guess I can be very choosy with my 'tea'. "Oh, yeah, I just moved to New York," I told him. He nodded. "So, what does the pretty lady want?" He asked me, asking for my beverage. "A s*x on the beach please," I said politely. He smirked. "When will that happen?" Great, this guy is trying to be cocky. "Can I just please have my drink?" I asked, irritated, crossing my arms over my chest. He leaned in closer and I tried to lean back. "You look sexy when you're irritated," He purred in my ear. "Get away from me!" I shrieked, standing up. "What seems to be the problem here?" a husky voice from behind me asked. 'Oh boy. Please tell me it's not him,' I prayed. I chewed on my bottom lip and I turned around and saw Mr. Johnson in a designer grey suit that looked drop dead gorgeous on him. 'Kristine! What are you talking about? It's your boss we're talking about here!' My conscience yelled at me. "Mr. Johnson," I said weakly. "It's nothing you need to worry - " "It's none of your business, pal," The bartender spat. Mr. Johnson smirked. Oh dear. "Actually, Christy here - " "Kristine," I corrected. "- Is my girlfriend," He finished. I looked at him as if he were crazy. He wrapped his arms around my waist and started kissing my neck. I let out a little moan when he kissed just under my earlobe. I feel him smirk - bastard. I bit my lower lip, trying not to moan anymore. He was taller than me - of course. When we both stand up straight, I probably will be up to just below his chin. It's sad to think that we both have the perfect height but our society and manners don't match each others. Wait, what? "Look, sorry man. I - I seriously didn't know," The bartender stuttered. "I'll make your drink," He told me. Mr. Johnson's arms are still wrapped around my waist from behind and he is still giving my kisses on the back of my neck, making my knees weak. I tried to keep my dignity to stop moaning from pleasure. A minute later, he came back with my drink. I started to move and grab my money but the bartender stopped me. "Look, since I was at fault, I'll charge you this drink for free," He smiled apologetically at me. I smile at him thankfully. "Thanks." "No worries." I turned around and looked at Mr. Johnson. "Thank you," I thanked him. He nodded and left me standing by myself there by the bar, back to his table. Great. I made my way back to the table and sat down thankfully as my feet were already killing me from the heels. I do not regret this though. It was pretty fun. Chloe and Jasmine, out of nowhere, sat down on the leather chairs, giving me a huge freight. "Dammit guys, you gave me a freight," I whined. They laughed loudly. "That was priceless!" Jasmine cried out of happiness. "Aw, thanks," I sarcastically said, rolling my eyes. "What's up with you, though? Why did you jump 10 feet off the ground?" Chloe asked. "Overreact much?" I said. She shrugged and waited for my answer. I sighed. "The bartender nearly did some things to me," I explained, trying not to overreact with the situation and leaving out the fact that Mr. Johnson saved my little ass out of trouble. "He's so fired," Jasmine muttered. I shot her a look and I stared to chew on my bottom lip. "You don't have to - " " - No, Kris, don't worry. He's done that to a million girls so no worries," Jasmine assured. I breathed out in relief. "Okay, good." "Anything else happened?" Chloe raised her eyebrow. Jasmine giggled. "I don't want to tall about it," I mumbled. "Whatever you say, Kris. Whatever you say," Chloe sang.
