Three days had elapsed, and Margaret have still not found enough strength, to come to a solid conclusion on what to say to Zade. Going to meet the person who had contacted her out of the blue with her original name was something that she dared to do. But upon discovery that the person who had reached out to her was the man who had been presumed dead three years ago she was spell bound ephemerally. From their conversation he did not seem as the same man he knew. A lot had changed about him and that was confirmed from their conversation.
Before Margert had lividly exited the rendezvous with Zade, Zade was talking about certain things she found very unpleasant and very disheartening. But Zade said that was the only way they could be free, for them to be together again. They could be together again if only Margaret’s agreed to do what Zade wanted her to do. Zade had told Margaret that, The Factor, his boss required him to obtain an ancient African relic called The Exeta for him. And he continued that, the Man he lived with thus Mr. Frimpong Manso had the Exeta. Meaning, Margaret had to invade the secret enclosure of the house she had worked in for many years to obtain the Exeta for Anoi. Margaret was bewildered upon hearing that, saying that she will never believe in that for Mr. and Mrs. Frimpong Manso were one of the good people she had ever come into contact with in her life. She could not just believe what Anoi was saying. That made Anoi feel humiliated he then decide to do something he knew was against the ethics of an assassin – thus give away too much information.
But to come to think of it, he trusted Naki. He still loved her, at least if it was not like so ardent before. The love was still there. He trusted she will not do anything to jeopardize his operation. They have worked together on more precarious operations than this. All Anoi required from Naki was to bring back the darkness in her again to accomplish this task once and for all. The darkness of her being a former armed robber. That was what Anoi required of Naki. Naki was still adamant if that was the right path to go since she purposed in her heart that she had spurned her dark past and is now going forward to a new way. How could she go back to her dark past when all that dark past reminded her of was pain, avarice, torture, blood and death?
With all these thoughts flooding through her mind, she was tentative and was not going to do what Zade wanted her to do. But all changed after Zade had given her a deep information regarding Mr. Frimpong Manso. Anoi narrated that, Mr. Frimpong Manso was a part of a secret evil society that had plans of destroying the world with The Exeta -- an obvious lie. Anoi continued saying that, they were the cause of the misery and the poverty and deprivation in Africa. Anoi narrated that, they are evil but pretend to be good and behaved nicely towards people. Naki was not really confortable hearing all that. She was stuck in a maze of labyrinthine discontinuity. How can she believe such a story? Anoi was not playing, Naki could see he was serious about what he was saying. He then opened an envelope and showed her a portrait of The Exeta to confirm all that he had been saying to her.
Naki out of curiosity had taken the portraits and taken a deep look at the Exeta. It made a little sense now. Anoi added that, Naki was the only person he could trust to obtain the Exeta for The Factor. And as they ended their conversation, Anoi told Naki to be looking at the right index finger of his boss for he will seeing a dark golden ring -- which confirmed that his boss was an occult grandmaster. Naki had ended the conversation with Anoi saying she will call back again soon to give her final decision.
So as Naki laid in the bed in her nicely adorned room looking at the picture from the envelope Anoi had given her, the only words that flooded through her mind was, the rich always want to be rich and do not help the poor. The present their faces nice but secretly they are the cause of the miseries of the poor man. What can be the source of the riches of Mr. Frimpong Manso? Is it only the work they did or was there other sources – secret sources? And come to think of it, if indeed Mr. Frimpong Manso was part of the secret society, was he really going to destroy the world as Anoi says?
Naki was ready to give Anoi an affirmative response, as two days ago she had seen the ring on the finger of Mr. Frimpong Manso. The ring was on his right index finger disparate from his wedding ring wish was still clean on his left ring finger. She was enveloped with fear ephemerally. That was it, it had all had been confirmed. Naki was now fully convinced on what to do as she placed a cell to Anoi.
“Anoi…I will do it.” Naki said coyly. She moved about the room hoping no will get to hear her conversation.
“Wow…thank you a lot Naki, I really appreciate this” Anoi replied politely.
“If all that you have told me is true and this is the only way be together again, then I will do it.” Naki assured.
“I do not know what to say….” Anoi said with his words hanging in the air.
“I will let you know if I get anything…bye.” Naki muttered and cut the call. She then placed her head up a little to the skies and psyched herself for the task she had just taken enlisted herself for. Convinced that this was the right path to go, she moved closer to the windows, closed them and jumped straight to bed.
-------
In the apartment of Anoi, he was the happiest person on God’s green earth. Naki, acquiescing to do his bidding was like she still loved her and was willing to do all for him. The news she had just received from Naki had made her night. Now all that was left was to coax her to be fast as the Factor was still in a hurry to obtain the Exeta. He then placed a call to THE FACTOR. The call went through. After some time, The Factor called back.
“Arnold, any lead on the relic?” The Factor inquired with a cold voice. After the factor had found Arnold and helped him have a new identity he gave him a new name Arnold Forson to replace the Anoi which to him was no more. So, all current documents of Anoi were now in the name ARNOLD FORSON.
“No Sir…. but I have been able to get someone in the inside of the House to obtain it for me” Arnold replied.
“And this person you have found, do you trust him?” The Factor inquired. When it came to The Exeta he was very circumspect.
“Yes Sir…I am, she will never do anything the contrary.” Arnold replied. Arnold at this point was more than stiff eager to hear what his superior had to say about entrusting a very potent agenda into the hands of a woman.
“Am counting on your credibility, if anything on the contrary happens eliminate her….is that clear?”
“You can be assured of that Sir…” Arnold replied shaken. Arnold was never expecting that reply. What the hell had he put the women he still loved into?
“Great in the light of that, there are some new developments I like you to be occupied with. Am sending you the file by the end of tonight. We need to act fast as the closure if only 21 days. In the file all that you need to do is succinctly spelt out. Just let me know of any clarifications.” The Factor stated.
Arnold quickly put on his computer, eager to see what The Factor had for him. “We will talk more, and remember we are had pressed for time on the Exeta, we have no time, and you have to act fast…good day” The Factor ended the call.
With that, the line went dead. Arnold then moved his cell phone away and then moved onto his computer ready and poised for action.
