Chapter Eleven
The police had come and gone; it was all very straightforward except for getting in touch with Jennifer. He called her only to find out that she had checked out. A call to his mother proved she knew that and Jennifer was even with her, but no one had thought to tell him or the kids.
He was still angry about it. No one had mentioned anything about it once the conversation was over, which meant his anger about it was showing. Ben and Lisa wouldn’t know though. They had enough going on in their life without the knowledge that their mom didn’t think they were a top priority.
The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. That and the fact that they were now coming here later today was driving him nuts. It was going to be a fight the entire time; it always was. He just pray
