After minutes of hiding in the washroom, I came out and went straight to the football field for sports class. The school team, The Ohio Beavers were ranked number 6 in the community leaderboard. Things hadn't been going well lately for the team. Jordan ,the team captain was known for being too bossy and ignorant. Eventually I figured I'd be interested in soccer. I always watched the likes Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, two of the world's best players whenever they had a match. I ended up scoring a hatrick in training for my team and everyone including our coach was left awe-struck. Henry and I had the best of partnerships. We linked up easily on the field and it got us lots of goals whenever we played together. Jordan always seemed like the back bone of the team but this time he was less depended on after I joined the squad. Obviously it erupted jealousy towards me. He played it cool throughout training but I had it at the back of my head that he was out for me and thus I had be cautious. He performed a number of clear cut fouls which obviously took the coach by surprise. He asked Jordan to sit through the rest of the game. The ladies would usually sit at the spectators zone and cheer the guys on. Even then Anita and Jacqueline were constantly yelling "GOOOOO DERWIN , GOOO DERWIN" . Everyone was impressed with my talent but those two went too far. When training was over coach assembled all of us for an announcement. Firstly he welcomed me into the team and commended my immense talent. Secondly he said there was going to be community games in the coming weeks and we needed to be ready....."Recent incidents have made me take a decision, I'm proposing to make Derwin the new team captain in place of Jordan as a result of his recent misconduct." Everyone was shocked at this decision. I first of all thanked coach for the opportunity. Those of the guys closest Jordan also seemed happy but their friend definitely wasn't. School was over and after having a chat with Henry, they both bumped into Fernanda and Ava. It was the moment of my life . "You looked great out there" , she said. For someone who was known for not talking much I was really happy that afternoon. I asked her if she and Ava would like to walk home with us. But guess what, she left me standing at the spot for 12 minutes telling me she needed to use the ladies room. I was really hurt that day and left school, with my head facing the ground.
