As the first light of dawn crept over the horizon, I stirred from a dreamless sleep. My eyes fluttered open to the sight of the mountain peaks painted in hues of gold and rose by the rising sun.
A part of me wished to capture this moment, to hold onto the serenity that cloaked the mountain community we'd found refuge in. They had opened their hearts without hesitation. In their simple, joyous existence, I had discovered an unexpected peace.
That feeling remained even with the new direction we'd been given.
"Kryzen," I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper as I nuzzled closer into his strong arms. His embrace was both a fortress against the chill morning air and a reminder of the bond we'd forged on this journey.
"Mmm?" he responded, the sound rumbling through his chest.
