“Baby…” I mumbled as I watched Elisha finally getting her sleep. She looked peaceful and sound next to Gideon. I missed being in bed with her, especially the way she snuggled next to my chest, telling me how much she loved me.
All of those beautiful memories were long gone. Yet, I wasn’t losing hope. Soon, I would have Elisha back in my arms again.
“Happy birthday, son….I hope you enjoy my present.”
I knew Sam would somehow hate me again, but I had to do it. I silently invited Tom to a party. I didn’t tell him it was his own son’s birthday celebration. I just said that Sam wanted me to ask him, and Sam wanted him to surprise Elisha. I wasn’t sure if Tom would come, though.
