Chapter 16

"This must be pretty serious since you're having me sit down. I mean, it can't be that bad, right? It's not like I'm going to die." Her face was stone cold. "I'm not going to die, right?" I asked, sitting up at attention now. "Yes, you will die. After your body will go through a transformation, so to say to become like me. The transformation takes a few days, and during that time, you are technically dead. You won't even have a heartbeat." I could feel my jaw hitting the floor. "Dead? No heartbeat?" My voice squeaked out. "It's not guaranteed that you will come back alive, though." I gasped. "You mean I could be dead forever like dead, dead? Or vampire, zombie dead?" She gave me this look that answered my questions, and I gulped. "Damn... I don't want to eat brains." Noor scoffed. "Lareina, please take this seriously. You could be, as you say, dead, dead. No coming back. Gone. Forever." She let out a sigh and got up, coming towards me. "I don't want to change you because you could die; however, if I don't, there's an even higher chance that you could die. I don't like my options, but I've come to realize that they aren't my options or decisions to make." She started caressing my face at this point. "I am so selfish. All I want to do is take you, and we go far away from here. But I know now more than ever that I can't be selfish, not when it comes to this." "Will I have badass powers like you? What about my eyes? Will they do that glow thingy that yours do?" She just facepalmed. I was about to continue till she gave me a serious look. I deflated at that point. I have an unhealthy way of deflecting and making light of everything to cope with deep s**t. "Fine, I'm sorry. I want to go through with the transformation... So let's mate."
