Chapter 30: Finding Tom
Gillian heads east on Molly Kill Trail and I head west on Beach Nut. Both of us take different island trails in hopes of finding Tom. Bernie stays behind in case Tom finds his way back to the cottage. All of us have our cell phones handy so we can notify each other of Tom’s whereabouts.
I feel responsible for finding Tom. What a horrible host I will be labeled if I don’t make the initiative and chase after him. There is no way he can find his way back to the cottage because of all the unmarked trails on the island. One trail looks like all the others, which causes me to believe that he can walk in circles all night long, into the morning, unable to reach Holly Kill Cottage.
