Chapter 35: Greater Things and Aggravation 1:17 P.M. “I’ve got to get off this f*****g island,” Gillian says, holding an ice pack against her nose. She is three sheets to the wind, drunk on a bottle of red wine, which she uses to numb her pain. “I was supposed to be on a plane to Chicago an hour ago. Gavin awaits me. When will Brett return with the boat?” I observe Gillian on the wooden pier with all her luggage scattered around her body. She looks like the queen of luggage among her D&B bags.
