I woke up almost at noon, feeling the silence engulf the house. It was basically as silent as the dead. I wandered out of my bed to the hallways. they were empty. I was confused since I was used to having a fuss around every time I wake up. This is unusual. I went down the stairs and checked every room. No one was there. Not even Rosey or the maids were in sight. .
"Rosey!" I called out, waiting for a moment before trying again. "Alex!" But there was no answer. I went back to my room, noticing for the first time the loud squeak the door made when I someone shut it. I paced around my room, not sure if this was a hallucination once again or if this was reality. A painful idea popped into my head.
