We sit on the ground with Al's jacket as a blanket, so the dirt and dried leaves won't stick to our clothes. I also have to take off the denim jacket to cover my legs since I am not an expert in dealing with skirts. As the jacket isn't as wide as the picnic blanket, we have to stay closer in order to share. And that means I am not only sharing proximity with Al but also our body heats. The thought of this makes my heart pulsate like crazy. I only hope Al doesn't hear it.
"So, we're together now. We're basically a couple," he says as he pulls his knees up and wraps his arms around them, mimicking my posture.
