Liv’s POV I couldn’t believe my eyes when the door opened to reveal Vivienne standing behind mother, as smug as ever. She had the audacity to step into my friend’s apartment, a place she had no business being, after all the hell she’d put me through. I laughed dryly, crossing my arms as I leaned against the counter. “I can’t believe this.” “Shut up, Liv,” my mother snapped, her sharp tone cutting through the tension in the room. But I wasn’t a child anymore. I wasn’t going to sit back and take it like I used to. “Don’t tell me to shut up, Mother!” I shot back, my voice louder than hers. “You’ve been telling me to shut up every damn time Vivi does something wrong, and now you’ve gone as far as bringing her to an apartment she doesn’t deserve to step foot in.” “Liv…” my mother
