It was Marie’s and Jasper’s engagement party and goddess knew I hated to be here but after they had deliberately sent two invitation letters with subtle threats to me, Orson and I had to make an appearance.

I felt nervous, the place gave me chills and I feigned a smile as I clinked glasses with Orson.
“I still don’t know you wanted us to be here… We should leave, this place reeks of malice.” He whispered but I shook my head with a smile.
“Try to be happy for them… It's their big day, let’s watch their union… They might not last but it’s good to watch the show they’re putting on.” I replied, trying to sound very convincing
