'That asshole Marcus! I hope he burns in hell '
'Speaking of hell, will I end up in hell or heaven. I mean I was a good person so I should go to heaven, right?'
'Wait a sec, am I thinking? Do souls think too?'
For some reason I could feel something. I could feel something soft and smooth.
I could smell the sweet scent of flowers.
Is this a dream or something, or am I actually in heaven?
"My lady!" A voice called out.
"It's morning my lady, it's time to take your bath." The calm feminine voice continued.
I was forced to open my eyes and I was almost blinded by the morning light.
I was on the softest, most comfortable bed I have ever been on in my entire life.
I looked around and I was short of words.
I was in a stunning, well furnished, extremely cozy room that seemed to be from the medieval era.
A lady walked out of a door and approached me.
She looked stunning with pale skin, pretty brown eyes and brunette hair.
She was wearing a pretty dress and bowed before me.
I looked at her with a confused expression.
"Your bath water is ready, it has been infused with sweet smelling perfumes and the oil of Orchiasa like you requested before going to bed, my Lady." She said with her head bowed.
I have never been this confused in my life.
I expected heaven to be a place with flying angels and clouds and anything but this.
If this is what I think it is, I have to play along and not give away the fact that I am not who they think I am.
I stood up from my bed and walked the cold marble floor, following my intuition.
I went into the room the lady just came out from and met a large bathtub, scenting like heaven. The bathroom was lit with sweet smelling candles.
"Are you ready my lady?" The lady asked from behind.
I flinched on hearing her voice, I didn't know she entered with me.
"Ready for what?" I asked her timidly.
"For me to bathe you." She replied.
I stood there for seconds staring at her. There is no way she is actually serious about bathing me.
I realized her expression remained the same, I expected her to burst into laughter and say she was joking.
Before I could say anything she began undressing me, I felt flustered and violated. I slapped her hands and drew away from her.
She looked at me with immense shock.
"Are you okay my lady? You have been acting strangely since you woke up." The lady lamented.
Shit! I was already giving myself away.
"Oh, please don't mind me, I was just feeling a little tense this morning. Please go on with whatever you are doing." I obliged.
She drew closer to me and slowly pulled off my clothes. I felt tense and awkward being in a position like this, having someone undress me, the only person who had ever done that was Marcus. That i***t!
After removing all my clothes she directed me to enter the bathtub.
I stepped in the tub and the warm water quickly soothed my skin.
I sat in the bathtub breathing in the heavenly scents of the sweet fragrance.
The lady sat beside me on a stool and began to wash my hair.
"What's your name?" I asked her from nowhere.
I get the fact that I am a very important figure here since she has been addressing me as my Lady so I will easily get away with simple stupid questions.
"Sorry?" She blurted, obviously perplexed.
"I asked what your name was, I woke up with a hazy mind this morning so your name slipped out of my mind." I explained myself.
I mean it's just the truth mixed with a lot of lies.
"Oh, it must be all the wine you drank last night, my Lady. My name is Anna, I am your hand maid." She informed me.
"Ohhh." I exclaimed, pretending to remember her.
"So I am the wife of the duke or the baron right?" I asked her.
Anna shot me a surprised, suspicious gaze.
I really didn't care, in as much as I got the answers I needed.
"You must have drank quite a lot, my Lady. You are the wife of the King..."
"What!" I yelled in shock.
Anna was so shocked that she tripped from her stool.
'Just a while ago I was the girlfriend of an abusive animal but now I am the wife of a freaking King. Karma is really blessing me.'
I helped Anna to her feet as she looked at me as if I was a crazy woman.
"I am sorry I scared you Anna, I just forgot I was the wife of a King. So you mean I am the Queen of this place?"
"Yes, my Lady." She affirmed.
I was rendered speechless and could not say a word till Anna finished bathing me.
I spent all the bathing time daydreaming about how my life will be now that I can afford every leisure available here.
Anna led me to the dressing room and I was welcomed into a large room filled with dazzling dresses, high fashion shoes, and glittering jewelry.
I felt like I was in a fashion heaven, the clothes there were more than I could even count and so were the jewelries.
As I gazed around the room with my mouth open, my eyes fell on a large mirror.
My reflection rendered me speechless.
Her skin was smooth and spotless like glass, they were dark and beautiful like priceless chocolate.
Her hair was long and luscious, her lips soft and seductive.
Her eyes were alluring as they glowed like an expensive emerald.
Am I in the body of a goddess?!
I was lost in awe as I stared at my host's beauty.
I don't know who owned this body but there were pretty as f**k.
"Which dress would you like to wear today, my Lady?" Anna asked, interrupting my self obsession moment.
I turned to look at all the beautiful dresses hanging on racks but my eyes fell on one, worn by a wooden mannequin.
A beautiful, intricately designed red dress, adorned with jewels sparkled under the morning sun.
"That dress." I said, my gaze fixed on the red dress.
"That dress is for the ball tonight, I am afraid you won't be permitted to wear it." Anna informed me.
"The ball tonight? As in the ball, the one where people dress up and come to eat and dance?" I asked.
"Yes, my Lady. We have been planning this ball for months now. If you hadn't gotten so drunk yesterday you would have remembered. A lot of nobles will come from other kingdoms tonight. The king expects that you look and act your best, my Lady."
I have a feeling Anna didn't buy my lie about forgetting everything because I got drunk but she has no other choice but to play along.
I picked a pretty blue dress and Anna dressed me up.
By the time she was done, I was dazzling.
I was looking like what would be the result if a goddess and an angel had a baby.
The corset was more comfortable than what I imagined a corset would be like
"My lady, it's time for your breakfast." Anna informed me.
"Sure, just lead the way." I told her trying to hide the fact that I don't know the way to the dining room.
"Alright, my Lady." She led the way and I followed behind her.
As she opened the door and I stepped out, I was met with the beautiful interior of the palace.
It was so beautiful and adorned that I couldn't stop staring.
Everyone I met on the way didn't stop bowing to greet me.
It felt weird but I couldn't say they should stop.
We eventually got to the dining room. The dining table was a large one, on it were golden goblets and wine bottles, and delicious, mouthwatering dishes.
On one side was the server, who bowed on seeing me and I nodded in return.
Anna dragged a chair backwards for me to sit on.
I sat on the chair, ready to devour the delicacy until I noticed something.
I was the only person seated on the dining table.
I am the Queen, don't I have a husband, children or anybody at all?
Why am I seated alone, on this large table eating breakfast?
I turned to Anna who was behind me, "Won't the King be coming to have breakfast this morning?" I asked her.
Her eyes glanced over to the server as if she was looking at him for answers.
I turned to the server and he looked at me confused.
I didn't know what was going on but I was sure I just asked a question I wasn't supposed to.
Anna leaned in closer and whispered into my ears,"It seems you have also forgotten that the King never dines with you, my Lady."
I gulped on hearing this. Why in the world would my own husband never dine with me? Was this host that annoying that her own husband avoids her, or maybe she just has bad table manners.
"Is there no other person who would sit with me for breakfast?" I whispered into her ears.
"You always eat alone, my Lady." She whispered in reply.
What?! I will always eat alone?! I was happy to be in this place, in this body only because I wanted things I could never achieve in my past pathetic life, like finally not eating alone.
"How about you? Come eat with me." I proposed to her.
Immediately I said that, Anna had a horrified expression on her face.
"The King will have my head if I do that, my Lady." She uttered.
I suddenly felt a cold in my spine. My eyes watered as I was coming to realize something.
When Anna mentioned the King might have her head, she said that with all seriousness.
I have a husband that doesn't eat with me and threatens to chop off his servants heads, did I move from the frying pan to the fire?
I ate my food in silence, the meal was delicious but I couldn't stop wondering what my husband, the King, might be like.
I clenched my fist, pissed off by the fact that my fate in this new world will be determined by my husband who is already turning out to be a jerk.
I guess I will just have to give him the benefit of the doubt, not like I can really do anything else.
I enjoyed my breakfast being optimistic about everything going on.
After enjoying the delicious breakfast, Anna and I headed outside.
I told Anna to show me around the castle to refresh my memory of the castle surroundings. Another well crafted lie.
As we walked the hallway, I was busy staring at the beautiful interior of the castle that I accidentally bumped into someone.
I nearly lost my balance but quickly regained it.
I turned to look at the person so I could properly apologize but what I saw left me speechless.
The lady I bumped into had a subtle resemblance with me. It wasn't much but it was impossible to overlook.
Unlike me, she had brown eyes and brown hair.
"I am so sorry, I wasn't looking, that's why I accidentally bumped into you..." I tried touching her, I just felt like since she was most likely going to be my sister, she wouldn't mind but she instead slapped my hand away.
There was a sort of bitter gaze in her eyes as she stared at me then she stumped away.
I was shocked and confused with my mouth left wide open as I watched the lady stump away angrily.
Does everyone just happen to hate my host, I mean what kind of person was this woman before I possessed her body.
But the most pressing question right now is, who was that lady?
