I'm not Alice

1003 Words
Keisha’s shriek sounded like it has suddenly lost her mind.   She slowly opened her eyes and saw Mar-jay’s body lying in the center of the circle facing her.   It seems that Alice is decided to keep her from saving the ones that are still left.   That’s when her phone rang, and saw Mrs. Martines's number. Her Adviser and Alice’s aunt.   “Hello? Karma? What is all that noise? Where are you?”   She tried her best to tell her exact location before the signal cracked. Keisha on the other hand began to run out. It was screaming with its handheld high. Like it has already lost its sanity.   “What are you looking at there for? Do something!” Eulo said to her. But she was more worried about the one that had left the circle running.   “Stay here,”   “What?”   “Don’t ever leave this circle for whatever means. I’ll try and get Keisha back in here,”   “What? No! Don’t leave me here,”   But all of Eulo’s pleading went straight to the trash, as she ran after Keisha into the woods.     ***     “Damn!” Eulo swore.    That’s when things suddenly went quiet around him.   Things that flew around before lay there like it has been left after a riot. And the strong wind that made them thrown around became mild again as nothing happened.   Could Alice’s spirit decide to leave him alone and follow the two girls instead?   If that is the case, then he should get the hell out of there when there is still time. Either way, he still has an amulet to protect him. Not even Alice can get to him even if she tries.   He began to take one foot out of the circle. And waited for a few seconds. When nothing happened, that’s when he finally came out of it.   It was a smooth way out that he immediately found the highway. He waived at a car that was passing by. A middle-aged man was driving it.   “Where are you going, young man?”   “Can you help me get home? I can pay you however much that you want.”   “Okay, get in.”   Eulo smiled, as though he had finally escaped death and hoped in the car.   “What are you doing in the middle of the road? You look like something spooked you out there,” the middle-aged man asked.   Eulo thought hard if he should tell the man what happened. But he decided to just keep quiet about it.   “I was partying with some friends there. And I got bored, so I went on my own. And I didn’t get to bring a car with me.”   Now that he had thought about it. He did have a car.   That’s when the car became very familiar to him. It was indeed his.   “You recognize something?”   The man’s face became dark and unrecognizable. It was bent down facing the floor.   He could only see its ear on his side and nothing more.   “W-who are you?”   “That hurts,” the man's voice suddenly changed into a girl. So were its features. But it was way far from normal. It was screaming decay and rot all over it. One thing he could recognize is the dress it wore.   It was the same that Alice had when he, Chigs, and Wacko r***d her.  When they actually thought that she was dead after hanging herself at the abandoned building.   He tried getting of the car by opening the door to his seat. But Alice grabbed him by the wrist. He was so scared that he failed to notice that the bracelet had fallen off. As he fell off the car and rolled on the side of the road.   He tried to get up as quickly as he can. But his ankle was already twisted from the fall. So he ended up crawling instead.     Luckily the twigs around were quite tall, and he found a place to hide for the time being. Though he knew that he couldn’t do that very well for too long.   He thought of the amulet in his wrist. Good thing that he still has the bracelet with him.   But he panicked upon realizing that it was already lost.   “Where’s that arrogance of yours now?” he heard Alice’s mocking words trying to get him to speak.  By pissing him off.   But he chooses to keep it in by covering his own mouth.   Alice knew very well that his biggest weakness is his ego. But he’d rather choke on it than be killed by Alice's ghost.  "You know very well that you can't escape your fate,"  Eulo began to close his eyes. Trying to get rid of  Alice's face on his thoughts.  Who said that facing your fears could make you stronger? In his case, it would probably kill him if he so tries. Meanwhile, Karma was roaming the woods with Cissy looking for Keisha. But it was nowhere to be found.  "Where could she have gone?" Cissy looked quite chill after they both went out to look for  Keisha. She can't help but envy the latter for being a ghost.  that not even a strand of its hair left its place. While she on the other hand looked as though a group of demons chased her. She was gasping hard for her own breath. Then a certain image of someone standing near a tree caught Karma's eyes.  It was Keisha. It had its back turned on them. And wasn't moving a bit. "There," she deliberately lowered her voice, so as not to attract any attention, especially from Alice.  She carefully walked closer to where Keisha stood. It still didn't move even after she slightly tapped its shoulder and called its name.  Keisha's head was bent down when she circled around the latter.  "Keisha?"  It slowly lifted her head. And she was greeted with a pair of pale eyes.
