A goodbye or a new start?

1002 Words
“Is there a problem?” Karma asked Anton after it repeated Cissy’s name as if it ringed a bell or something.   “Why does that name somehow seem familiar to me?”  it said asking itself the same thing.   But their conversation was cut short as an unexpected guest came to Alice’s funeral. It was Keisha.   The last time she heard, it was admitted into a psychiatric ward. But was soon released after miraculously gaining its sanity back.   “What is she doing here?” asked one of the guests. It wasn’t a secret anymore that Keisha was a part of Alice’s bullying that brought about its demise.   “She really had the guts to show her face after what happened,” said one of Alice’s female cousins, that was immediately shushed, Mrs. Benz.   “I want to pay my respects,” Keisha was seemingly calm, Unlike when it first met Alice’s mother.   Like the kind-hearted person that she was, Mrs. Benz let Keisha do as we wishes. Either way, nothing can bring her daughter's life back, even if she tries to hate the people who made Alice commit suicide. She owes them as well for her daughter’s seeking revenge.   Soon after it threw a white rose into Alice’s grave. It went up to karma.   “I would just like to thank you for helping back there.”   “No problem,” she said.   It then said goodbye to him and Anton.   “That’s it, not much as a sorry to the family?” said Cissy. But she was more concerned about how Keisha’s aura differed from what it used to be.   After walking a few meters away, the latter turned at her. It had a weird grin on its lips. While mouthing the words.   “We’ll see each other soon,” to her.   Could it still be possessed? But by whom? As far as she knows, Alice is already a thousand feet under.   “Did you see that?”   “See what?”   She was asking Cissy, but Anton was the one to answer her. When she turned to face her friend. It has been staring in the same direction as to where Keisha went. “It was nothing,” she told Anton instead.   Cissy might have gotten the message as well.     “About your friend's case,” Anton’s voice interrupted her thoughts, “You don’t need to worry, I’ll try to find as much information about her. But you’ll need to go to the station for a facial composite.”   “No problem,” Cissy remained quiet. Did Keisha’s words bother her friend at some point?     ***     Cissy was still silent after they left the funeral.   “Is there a problem?”   Cissy seemed out of it.   “I just felt like there was something very familiar with the way Keisha reacted earlier.”   “Did you gain some of your memories back?”   “Not yet,” Cissy shaking her head. “But it did bring back some familiar feeling, how do I say this,”   “You don’t need to try too hard, It will all come to you soon enough. And now that Alice’s brother will help us find out about you. It will be easier for us to know the truth about how you ended up there.” “I do hope so,”   As Cissy was saying that. An aura from a few meters away caught their attention. It was a girl. And it had a dark chasm surrounding it. It was kneeling in front of a grave by itself.   “Do you see that?” she asked Cissy.   “Don’t even think about it, my quota’s done for this week. Let’s go,” it said basically pulling her out of there. And away from the person, she’s starting to get curious with.  ***  Ten years ago,   A child named Ruby had always been on her own. She didn’t want to play with other kids. And just talked to her imaginary friend all day. That even her parents started to fear her. Every time she says that someone is going to die. It happens like she’s somewhat putting a curse on someone’s life. It did not stop there either. Because when her mother died, she was the only one present at the scene. And it looks as though someone had pushed her mother from the top of the stairs.  And with her being the only witness to the crime. She was the one blamed for it as well. She was taken into a convent to study after. But even the sisters felt uneasy with all the creepy things happening ever since she came.  Her roommates and classmates start to either die or get possessed one by one. That’s when everyone started to avoid her. Until one day, the Mother Superior herself asked her father to take her back.   After she came back, everyone else was afraid to get close enough to her. She was locked in her room at some point. She wasn’t allowed to set a foot out other than her own balcony.  Or to talk to anyone else, especially the staff in the mansion. Her father wouldn’t even visit nor ask if she’s still okay.   She had to learn on her own, which was never a problem for her. For she had always been a smart girl.  But what everyone didn’t know was, she learned more than just what the school usually taught.   Like chanting words in different languages, especially in Latin. Which was commonly used by demons and other entities. She was only allowed to go back to school when she learned that being herself is considered creepy to others. Though nothing changed for her in high school. No one still wanted to be her friend. But she's okay with that because she doesn't need one. Her friend can be a little jealous at times. And by jealousy, she meant one will not live to see the day again.
