Chapter Seven - Hunter

625 Words
I couldn't believe I'd found her, the last High Seer from the old magic. Right under my nose this whole time. I knew there was something about that girl. No doubt she's tricked him some way into being with her, wouldn't put it past a witch to trap him. She's probably carrying his f*****g child already and planning to keep him locked at home. I knew all about the starting of new mates; I'd been doing this for centuries. It was always the same, the mate changes; she was vulnerable and he was there for her. But they're glued at the hip, they 'can't be apart'. Not to mention now that they've mated he'll now have some small extension of her powers. Getting involved with someone like that is dangerous,  he doesn't know what he's gotten himself into; she's a witch and this has to stop. I laugh an empty laugh into the dark space of my living room; I couldn't help but sneer at his happiness, she'd tricked him. He couldn't have fallen in love that quick without magic being used against him. Relief washes over me as I am overcome with joy; my journey will soon be over and I can finally live to die and be free of this earthly body. I've been here, with the same mission, for 600 years. It was easy at first, Seer's were everywhere and so easy to capture and rid the universe of; then the numbers started to dwindle and generations were skipped, it wasn't as easy to determine who was and wasn't. Then the mission changed; anyone could be a Seer; any single person. It ended up being the select few whom had affinities and so, they were dubbed the High Seer's. They were far more of a challenge to seek out, not to mention dispose of. Now I'm down to the very last one; I'd been searching for years; returning each time as someone different to try and best fit with their lifestyle. And just like that, the last one falls into my lap and barely has any idea who she is, never mind who I am.  600 years and I've never found a High Seer who possessed the affinity to bend the elements to her will; no wonder she was the last. She's the rarest, most beautiful and most powerful. Witch? Yes. In the mythical sense? No. She is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen; mid height, shorter than her mate who is easily 6 foot, maybe 6' 2"? Her long dark hair curls at the ends and flowed to the bottom of her back, grazing the top of her backside; thick and luscious. Her pale skin was accentuated by the dark hair; it was so pale she was almost translucent. The rose blush on her cheek that appeared so often; the heat that rose under her skin and made my masculinity pulsate against my jeans. Mesmerising eyes that were a deep grey, sometimes they shone a brilliant blue-green, when she was deep in thought; I'd always known there was something about her. Now all that remained was to get her to surrender her magic; either that or I had to take it, by force. Something I'd not shied away from before but was reluctant to do to this one. Why? Nonsense, she's a witch. She deserves it. She's unnatural. She needs to be stopped, and I am the Hunter to stop her. It is my destiny, why I have been forced to resurface all these years. Imagine the freedom, the last High Seer will be gone and I will be free to live, to prosper, and then to die. A final and forever end that I long so much for.
