A Rather Curious Place
“How much furtherrrrrrrr…” whined Flip as they came to the crest of a large hill.
“She always complain like this?” Smokey asked Zeb.
“I heard that mister!”
“Yeah, except now she has the—”
“Wolf excuse!”
“Little lady I can tell you in no uncertain terms that if you keep whining like that ain’t no excuse under the sun gonna keep you from sleeping outside tonight ya hear?”
“Yessir. Sorry Mr Waters.”
“Now come on, my home is just over this hill and down on the river but we need to be quick. We’re losing daylight.”
“You live next to the river? That must be nice,” said Zeb.
