She felt that very feeling that was running through her spine, that was tickling in her stomach. She knew that very feeling, it was the second time she had felt that feeling that night. It was desire and Donald was letting that feeling spread all over her body. He sucked her earlobe, licking it and giving it all a bite, leaving hickeys all over her neck and then went to her swollen buds, sucking all hell out of it, paying all attention to it and leaving traceable marks on it. He went down to her abdomen, kissed it and travelled downwards to her p***y and tongue fingered it.
She kept on moaning, she was too helpless to the damn fire that he had ignited in her body that made her heart run twice as fast as before. She came in his mouth and they made out there, in the kitchen. He immediately picked her up, went straight to the bedroom after a series of rounds in the kitchen. He lid her gently on the bed, clasp hands with hers an that was it. The only sounds that came out of the bedroom was the sound of lovemaking.
They kept on going on rounds on and on till Daniella felt weak and fell asleep at around four in the morning. Only Donald did not sleep. He kept on staring into space, looking at nothing in particular, occupied with his thoughts. He stroked his wife's hair as she slept peacefully on his chest. He kept on patting sleeping beauty's hair, his mind rather far away.
When he was sure that she had fell asleep and had gone real deep to the dream world,he carefully removed her body from his, descending from the bed.
He went to have a shower, dressed up, went to the kitchen and washed the dishes and went to do something at the corners of the house. When he was done with that, he went back to his matrimonial room to pick his car keys on the drawer and replaced it with an envelope. He tucked Daniella to sleep, covering her with the duvet and placing a long lasting kiss on her forehead, the pendant on her necklace and on her ring. He straightened, looked at Daniella bitterly with so much emotions in his eyes before leaving the house to somewhere unknown.
It was the rays of the sun that entered the room through the window that woke her up. She sniffed the bed, trying to look for a particular scent which she wasn't getting. She stretched out her hands to his side and found out it was cold and empty. She jolted up in fear, opening her eyes and scanning for one person but didn't see him. She jumped out of the bed, ran to the bathroom, saw no one, grabbed a robe, quickly wore it and descend downstairs. She met the housekeeper who had resumed his duty that morning.
"Good morning Vladimir, did you see Donald anywhere today?"
" Good morning madame,. I haven't seen him today neither is his car in the garage ", the young man said as he continued his work.
Daniella stilled.
Donald's car not in the garage?
Did he leave without telling her anything?
He didn't tell her he was having an early appointment he ought to have in the morning, so why the disappearance, she thought to herself as she walked back upstairs, confused.
She sat on the bed, hands on head s she tried to think clearly. She stood up after a while of sitting to get her phone that was inside the the drawer and when she got to the drawer, she saw an envelope.
An envelope?
She took the envelope and then her phone and brought out a piece of writing that contained Donald's handwriting. She opened the content and began to read:
Dear love,
By the time you would have seen this letter, I am sure you would have gone biased looking for me. No one kidnapped me, I went on my will and not coming back. Actually, I ought not to come home last night but I felt the goodbye I gave you in the morning was not enough for me and you before I leave. You might have been worrying why and what happened between us to make me leave without saying anything. After all, we were good, so why did I leave?
The thing is that, how am I going to say this, we aren't supposed to be together. Do you remember the circumstances that brought us to meet and all that happened between us? It was fate. Fate made us to meet, made us to fall in love with each other but deep down, we aren't meant to be. If I can remember clearly yesterday was the day that I was supposed to leave your life according to the agreement we agreed upon before getting married. We didn't remember the agreement before we got married and all but agreement remains agreement and it has to be fulfilled.
Do you remember when we first met, the circumstances that led to our love? Well I remember it all. I even remember the amount of years you said you would stay with me. Remembering these memories, I came to realize that the day for me to leave you had come. That day was supposed to be yesterday.
I couldn't leave without clearing the bond of marriage that was tied to us. So it took me a while to sign it , but you sign the divorce papers, hand it over to lawyer Kevin and settle all the properties. You would be free again, like how you wanted to. Don't bother look for me. It is hopeless to raise the hope that you would find me. Tear this letter after reading it, it can cost you nightmares if you keep it. Remember to eat, don't starve yourself. Take all these as my last requests from you.
I'm gone.
My chapter in your life has been closed.
So goodbye my love.
Forever.
After reading the whole content, she staggered backwards, trying much as possible to digest and process all he had written but it wasn't processing in her mind.
He had left her.
For a confrontation she made years ago.
She thought past was past.
She never realized that he had been keeping her statement in his mind.
He was just kidding, she laughed loudly, shaking her head.
"This is just a kind of an expensive joke. Please Donald come off it. Come out of your hiding spot. I agree I've lost, you win, please just stop this madness", she said, tear filled.
She waited, hoped and longed that he would show up.
He didn't.
She finally snapped.
She fell to the floor, clutching the letter and her phone, holding on to the drawer as she fought the tears and took out her phone to dial Donald's number. His phone was out of service. She kept on dialing and dialing and the network server kept on saying the same thing," the number you have just called is out of service".
After losing count of the number of times she tried to connect with him, she called his friend, Davis. This time it rang and gave her expectations that soonest, he would pick up the call. But her expectations ran down the drain as he didn't seem to be ready to respond to the call.
She laughed at herself, it was a terrible nightmare, she kept on telling herself. Then why can't she not wake up from this nightmare?
Why was she so entrapped in it?
She pinched herself until blood began to come out before she realized she was in the real world and her world was messed up right now. She was in a total dilemma.
Then something came ringing in her head,"that day was supposed to be yesterday".
So does that mean he was preparing himself all along?
Does that mean the activities they had done together last night as part of saying goodbye?
Then she stilled.
Yesterday's date!
She raised her head, pulled her head as she said loudly," Luna what was yesterday's date?"
Luna seem to be yawning, as if awaken by some annoying mosquitoes but managed to reply," yesterday's date was 3rd of August. I thought you remembered that when you were preparing for the bath".
Third of August!
Yesterday's date was...
She yelped as realization fully hit her as she screamed so loudly that the lower floor could feel it.
"Madame, is everything fine?", Vladimir asked, standing at the door side that was blocking him from entering the room. He couldn't. He knew Donald could kill him if he does.
"Y...yes".
Her tears steamed out uncontrollably as she bit her lip to prevent her from screaming again. She took out the remaining content in the envelope and saw the divorce papers, with Donald's signature on it, and a scarlet bangle.
The previous day's date brought back memories of years ago...
