Too stunned for words, Daniella said to Bianca,"this...this whole lot? You live alone...alone when Donald is not around? I could have gotten lost but for your tour".
Bianca laughed and said, "now you know why I need someone to stay with me."
"No, what I mean is that this is actually too much. Alone, I can do many things, like starting a huge garden, rather than the small one you have here, read so many books, have a series of relaxation exercises, have a spa while enjoying the beautiful view of nature and many more."
"My love, even with all this, I still feel very bored. I'm not an indoor person, you know. I love to socialize with people."
Ella shrugged her shoulders and stared at the chandelier set that was left hanging on the ceiling of the spacious living room. "No one lives with you guys?"
"We have a butler and some maids. The butler's away with my father while the maids come thrice a week."
"oh i see."
"Let's go grab a snack."
They went to the kitchen. Bianca opened the refrigerator and took out a cheesecake and a large jug filled with orange juice. She went to the table in the room, placed the snacks on the table and smiled sheepishly at Ella. "Sorry. I just like cheese cake and fruit juice so much, if you don't mind that."
"I don't mind at all".
"So where do you work?", Bianca asked, slicing the cake and putting each on separate plates and pouring the juice into the glass cups for both her and Ella.
" Hmm, I ought to go for a job interview on Monday, but the case on ground might not give me the courage to go for it. I still feel somewhat sad about losing her and I really need this job", she said with a hint of sadness noted in her voice.
Bianca patted her friends back pitifully, as she noticed the bitter tone in Ella's voice, answering, "Don't worry, you'll get the job."
"I just hope so."
Bianca dropped her cutlery and faced Ella, gripping her by the shoulder before replying, "Look, my father always tells me not to give up on things that I want to have, because you'll end up regretting it, so please don't give up. Be strong, okay?"
Smiling, she put on a brave face, raised her right hand up, her left hand on her chest as she said, "from now on, I won't give up on things I want."
Proudly, Bianca said, "now we are talking."
They dropped the baggage that they bought in the kitchen, had a long shower and spent most of the time left for the end in bikinis and sunshades at the jacuzzi and sipping avocado juice, enjoying the heat tan their bodies.
At the company;
Donald, coming out of the conference room followed by a staff of employees, clad in a black tukcedo and matching shoes with a royal blue neck tie. He walked so graciously and proudly, hands in pockets as he is the boss. With him, side by side was his assistant, Jude, who was heavy loaded with three office files and a coffee mug, tried to catch up with his boss as his strides were quick and precise. Other employees took an elevator while Donald and Jude took a separate one that was leading to the took of the building where his office was located. The silence that reigned through out the journey from the conference room to the office showed how much displeasure his boss was keeping at bay. Not like Mr. Mod liked to talk, but the silence that reigned between them was as thick as night and was able to suffocate someone as Jude could feel it. Seems like the meeting went a wrong way, he thought. He felt danger looming as Mr Mod was in a bad mood, no a bad mood is an understatement, he was hi.. he had that type of anger that can be described in words.
The elevator opens as Donald comes out, Jude trailing after him, trying to think if best ways to cheer his boss up, he relented, knowing how dangerous the tasks could be, and then focused on how to inform Bianca of his sour mood. Donald sat on his chair, Jude setting things right on the desk as he slightly bowed, "what else can I get for you sir?"
A wave of the hand from Donald signalled dismiss as he went out of the office, entering the nearest office that was his. He picked up his phone and dialed Bianca's number but wasn't going through. Over and over again he called but wasn't getting any responses from the receiver.
"Bee, hum Mr Mod seems to be in a foul mood. I'm even feeling unethical talking to my boss's sister. I'm telling you in case, don't let him vet his anger on you", he texted and sent to her.
