Deal’s not sealed yet

Amaia didn't have any clothes to wear if she was gonna visit the Alpha, and it left her more frustrated than she already was. She marched to Veera’s room and began knocking, determined to get her attention. When there was no answer, she kept knocking, determined to get under her sister’s skin. Veera finally flung the door open, eyes blazing red with fury. “What do you want, Amaia? You’re getting on my nerves!” Wrapped in a towel, Veera glared at her. “My clothes. Seriously, where are my clothes, Veera?!” Amaia demanded, her voice sharp. Veera let out an exaggerated sigh, her expression smug. “If you must know, I burned them. Every last one, well except that, so you should be lucky.” “What?!” Amaia’s voice shot up in disbelief. “Why?! Why would you do that?!” “Because,” Veera said casually, as if she were discussing the weather, “you were supposed to die. I had to get rid of any trace of you in this house. Honestly, it was… really thrilling.” Her words were laced with a disturbing satisfaction. Amaia stared at her, her throat tightening as tears threatened to spill. “So, what am I supposed to do now? What am I supposed to wear, Veera? How could you be so cruel? How could you do this to me?! With a cold smirk, Veera spat, “Figure it out yourself, bitch.” And with that, she slammed the door in Amaia’s face. Amaia blinked, staring at the closed door, stunned into silence. She turned away from the door, her mind spiraling. ‘Veera, you keep pushing me to a place I never wanted to go… but once I’m strong enough, you’ll regret every single thing. I’ve swallowed my pride for too long, but this—this is my breaking point. This entire family will regret treating me like dirt.’ Heading out of the house and on her way to the Alpha’s mansion, she muttered under her breath, “If he wants to keep me around, he better be prepared to meet my demands.” Pulling out her phone, she dialed his number. It rang once before his familiar voice came through, amused. “Twice in one day, Little One? Looks like we’re setting a new record.” “I’m on my way to your place right now, Alpha,” Amaia said without hesitation. There was a pause. “I thought we agreed to meet tomorrow. Isn’t it a bit late to come to the mansion tonight?” Amaia glanced around, realizing how dark it had gotten. “Y-yeah, you’re right. I just can’t stay at home anymore, and I don’t have anywhere else to go. But if you don’t want me there, I’ll figure something out…” “Oh no,” Alpha Dixon’s voice turned smooth, “don’t get me wrong. Who said I don’t want you here? You’re more than welcome. Come on over, I’ll be waiting,” Alpha Dixon replied. Amaia let out a breath of relief. “And I’m starving, by the way. I haven’t eaten all day.” “Hmm, well, don’t worry about that. There’s more than enough food to share,” he said smoothly. With a smirk, Amaia ended the call, quickly hailing a taxi, feeling a little more in control of her situation. She arrived at the mansion, her presence clearly anticipated as the doors opened effortlessly for her. As she stepped inside, she could feel the weight of numerous eyes on her and hear the hushed whispers that trailed her. ‘What kind of curse was placed on him? Why did Veera believe I would die if the Alpha touched me?’ Amaia’s thoughts swirled. ‘He did tell me he doesn’t kill women, so it wasn’t his intention… right? ‘That has to explain the men around him, and why they keep looking at me weirdly.’ The grand entrance swung open, and she found herself standing once again in the vast, luxurious living room, still taken aback by its sheer extravagance. Descending the staircase was Alpha Dixon, dressed casually in black shorts and a pair of sweatpants. His casual attire was a stark contrast to the intimidating aura he carried. He noticed her immediately, his gaze raking over her simple gown, which exposed her long legs. Today, she looked far more vulnerable, more like a girl, than she had during their first meeting. Their eyes locked, and with a smile that carried his usual charm, he approached her, closing the gap between them quickly. Amaia instinctively stepped back, unnerved by how close he was getting, but before she could retreat further, he grabbed her hand and pulled her closer, a startled gasp escaping her lips. Alpha Dixon’s gaze dropped to his hand clasped around hers, as if expecting something to happen. Yet, nothing did. The curse that had plagued him all this time seemed powerless against her. She was truly immune. But why, what’s so different about her? The mystery of it thrilled him. He was a man who loved solving riddles, and in front of him stood the most intriguing one yet. “Alright, let go of me,” Amaia demanded firmly, her voice stern. “I didn’t come here for this… touching… whatever this is. Let. Go.” Alpha Dixon’s expression didn’t shift as he responded smoothly, “If you’re planning to accept me, you should know there’s going to be a lot more of this, Little One.” For a brief moment, Amaia’s hard stare faltered, but she quickly composed herself. “Well, the deal isn’t sealed yet, is it?” Alpha Dixon bobbed his head and let go of her hand. “I suppose not. So, am I right in thinking you want this deal in writing?” “Absolutely,” Amaia said without missing a beat, crossing her arms. “You want something from me, don’t you? Well, I’m a girl with a lot of needs and you're gonna give it to me.” Alpha Dixon’s eyes lingered on her, taking in the sly smirk that spread across her lips. It stirred something in him, and he chuckled under his breath. ‘This girl’s going to be a handful.’ He shrugged, maintaining his easy demeanor. “As long as it’s well within my abilities.” “Oh, trust me, it is,” she replied with a scoff, tilting her head. You have the means to give me everything I want. One of them which is good food…” She took a deep breath and began heading towards the kitchen. “But the deal’s not sealed yet,” he teased, watching her saunter off. She paused and shot him a glare over her shoulder. “Are you planning to let me starve? Because if you are, just know I can’t think straight on an empty stomach—and I’ll need all my wits about me if I’m going to sign any deal with you.” Without waiting for a response, she continued on her way to the kitchen.
