It's Cami!

(Janessa's POV)

It was day two of house building and I must say it is going exceptionally well. It is nearly 9 am and I am shocked at how much the builders have gotten done in one day. The framework for about two dozen houses was put up and they were about to start working on the interiors. "It looks good, Janessa," Ward stated. He was a Warrior on patrol around the pack.

"Thanks, Ward. Tell Sasha I miss her already," I chuckled in response. Ward was one of my co-workers, Sasha's mate. Sasha and I had grown close, working in the laundry room together, but Hadeon had given me time off to help oversee my vision of a better pack. Maybe if this place had competent leaders it wouldn't be so bad.

"Good morning, Janessa," I heard the cheerful voice of the Gamma female, Evi, call from behind me. I spun around and saw her approaching with her mate. She had a huge smile on her face and a joyful pep in her step. "Morning, Evi," I said with a smile as she walked up and gave me a tight hug. The two of us have become extremely close over the last few weeks. I know I am supposed to be somewhat of a prisoner here, but she has never once treated me as such.

"Gamma," I said while giving a curt nod to her mate. He didn't seem all that bad but he was always quiet and observing, so I couldn't get a good read on him. He gave me a small but genuine smile as he looked around at all the new construction. "It's a good thing you are doing here. Thank you," the Gamma stated while looking into my eyes. "You're welcome, but I didn't do it for you. I did it for all those poor, stolen pack members who have been living homeless on the lawns near the pack house. It's deplorable and I won't stand for it!" I exclaimed, working myself up for no reason.

Lucas's smile became larger as he stared at me intently. "Ahh, spoken like a true Luna," he stated with a slight bow. He caught me off guard with that one and I honestly didn't have a smart-ass comeback for him. Evi elbowed her mate in the stomach before turning to me with a timid smile. "Anyway, is there anything we can do to help?" Evi asked. "Sure, there is plenty to do. Go over and ask David what all you can help with, " I told them enthusiastically. The more hands the better!

After a couple more hours of working outside in the chilly mid-February air, a loud annoying voice suddenly pierced my ears. "What are all you loser Omegas doing? Building houses? You don't need f*****g houses, you pretentious bastards! Who do you all think you are?" she shouted in anger. Rage rolled off me immediately and I tried to crack my neck to ease some tension. "This stupid project is done!' she screamed in a full-blown tantrum, grabbing materials and throwing them around.

"Enough!" I shouted in disgust, letting some of my aura slip through. "We are not stopping anything! You may continue," I instructed. Some began picking items back up to continue working, while others looked around nervously, not sure who to listen to. Miss Whiney Pants stormed over to me with fury in her eyes. I almost laughed in her face at how badly she was failing at being intimidating. With her too tight mini skirt, long manicured nails, and high heels out there in the mud. It was ridiculous.

"I am the Luna of this pack! Show some respect!" Bad Dye Job shouted in my face. This time I couldn't help it. I laughed. "Please, you bear no mark on your neck!" I stated between chortles. She took a dangerous step closer to me. Too close for my liking. I reached into the waistband of my pants and rapidly whipped out my dagger. In one swift motion, I slid the blade across her orange throat, making sure to slice through her carotid artery.

It happened so fast that there was nothing she could do but grab her neck and try to stop the blood that profusely gushed from her wound. I couldn't hear anyone as I focused on her. Her eyes never left mine as she fell to the ground. My stomach flipped in satisfaction as I watched the life quickly drain from her eyes. She took her last breath and then stilled before I heard a shrieking voice shout "Did you hear me, you stupid cunt?!"

My focus snapped back and I was still staring eye-to-eye with the fugly whining b***h. Damn! That daydream was so real that I could almost feel the warmth of her blood on my hands. I quickly shook my head to get the blood lust off of my thoughts and focus back on the task at hand. "Do you think that you are somebody special just because you are the Alpha's flavor of the month? I am his future and forever, so you had better get used to it!" she growled as she poked me in the chest.

My jaw ticked and I was trying to show some self-restraint but this b***h was really pushing my buttons. "Listen, Carly is it?" I questioned, trying to remember her name. "It's Cami!" she stated through gritted teeth. "Yeah, whatever. Listen, Casey, I don't really know nor do I care what you are talking about. I am not worried about your disgraceful Alpha, but one thing you will never be is a Luna. You don't have what it takes," I told her as I eyed her up and down. She was pathetic and honestly, she and Hadeon deserved each other. My wolf growled at my thoughts.

"He is ours!" Hera snarled in my mind. "Yeah, well, apparently he wants to be hers. Plus, we deserve so much better. Look at this broken pack. It's sad," I replied through our link while looking around. "And look at the changes we have already made. He wants to be a better Alpha, I can feel it!" Hera exclaimed.

Poor Hera, still longing for her mate. Hadeon's fake mate kept spewing nonsense while Hera growled in my head. "We should have rubbed ourselves all over him just so I could have the satisfaction of seeing her face when she smelled him all over us," Hera proclaimed. I sighed at my wolf, she was too far gone.

"I will tell Hades to get rid of you once and for all! He will throw you right into the dungeons where you belong," Fake Mate shrieked. Oh, so she has clearly been talking to someone who knows why I am here. "And once we sacrifice you next month, I am going to mate with Hadeon and bear his mark for the rest of my life!" she growled with condescending pride. Something about what she said really hit a nerve. I'm not sure why, but the thought of Hadeon killing me and then going to her and marking her felt like a silver dagger through my windpipe. I couldn't breathe.

Without thought, my hand wrapped around her dainty little neck and my nails protruded into her flesh as I easily lifted her off of the ground. "Listen, Carrie, You keep f*****g with me and I will f**k Hadeon's brains out and make him send your pathetic ass home to your daddy. Now leave me be!" I roared before I threw her onto the ground. She looked up at me and I saw fear briefly flash across her eyes before rage took over. Even in the face of danger, she held her head high. I wasn't sure if she was brave or stupid, but she was clearly an Alpha.

"You could never have that much power over Hades!" she shouted. "Wanna bet? Say something else and I will send you on the next thing smoking back to dear old dad," I stated with a smirk. Ms. Plastic Barbie screamed as she stood up from the dirt. Her body was shaking in fury. "You-You are going to pay for this!" she shouted. "Sure thing, Candy," I told her with an annoyed eye roll as I gave her a sweet wave goodbye. She screeched in anger before storming off towards the packhouse.

"Hell, yes! That was totally badass!" Evi's chipper voice stated as she approached me from behind. "I don't know what it is about her but I am not looking forward to her being our Luna," stated Khmer, one of the Omegas building the houses. Lucas sighed and looked up at me with sad eyes before he strolled towards the packhouse. "Come over later, okay?" Evi said as she gave my hand a tight squeeze and followed behind her mate.

A short while later, I headed toward the packhouse to make sure lunch was in order for everyone. "Ahh, there you are," stated the annoying voice of the Beta. His shifty eyes looked me over with disgust, sending a chill up my spine. There is something about him I can't quite put my finger on, but then again, this whole place seems off. "What the hell do you want?" I spat out in irritation. I was on a mission.

I made it to the kitchen and began to give directions for lunch for the workers. "Who the hell do you think you're talking to?" The Beta shouted as he roughly grabbed my arm and spun me around. Out of reflex, I used the heel of my palm to strike the bridge of his nose and heard a painful crunch. "Ahh," he screamed as he used his hand to catch the blood that began leaking from his nostrils. "You b***h! You f*****g broke my nose!' the Beta screamed as blood poured from his nose and into his mouth and teeth.

Just as I anticipated the Beta's next move to lunge at me and grab my throat, I heard the voice of the Gamma. "What the hell is going on here?" Lucas exclaimed. "This b***h just broke the Beta's nose, and right after she directly disrespected our future Luna!" the Beta shouted in rage. Ooh, he was angry.

I smirked in satisfaction at his twisted nose and bloody shirt. Lucas stepped forward shaking his head and said, "Go to the doctor and get your nose set before it heals crooked." The Beta grunted in irritation. "And you," the Gamma continued as he pointed to me, "the Alpha wants to see you in his office immediately." Lucas turned around and headed toward the Alpha's office, and begrudgingly, I followed.

(Hadeon's POV)

I sat in my office, signing a few checks for the construction of the homes we were building. As much as I hated actually paying the Omegas, Zeus felt great about taking care of his pack. I won't admit it out loud, but I actually felt pretty good about it as well. A small smile graced my lips as I thought about my mate coming in and taking charge, like a true Luna. It almost saddens me that she will never be able to live up to her full potential, at least not here. Zeus growled at my thoughts. "MINE!" Zeus roared in my mind, giving me a slight headache.

"Relax, you know we can't have her. We are so close to reaching our goals," I linked my wolf with determination in my voice. "Yes but at what cost?" he growled. The more time Janessa was around, the more vocal my wolf became. I'm still not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing. Just then, the door to my office flew open. I growled at Cami standing there panting heavily as if she had just run a marathon. "Knock!" I shouted in anger. I don't care who she is, how dare she burst in and disrupt my thoughts?

"Hadeeees!" Cami's annoying voice whined. The more that time goes on, the more I struggle to see a good outcome in my mating her. She is aggravating and her voice irritates my soul. I know I made promises that I fully intend on keeping, but as the days go by I find it harder and harder to imagine Cami as my Luna. "That's because Janessa is our Luna," Zeus roared in my mind. I rubbed my temples trying to alleviate some of my tension.

"Hades, are you even listening to me?" Cami shouted in a rage. I looked up at her and took in her disheveled appearance. "What do you want Cami?" I asked, completely disinterested. "That-That she-b***h prisoner attacked me! ME! The future Luna!" she screamed and her voice sounded like nails dragging across a chalkboard.

"What do you want me to do about it?" I asked, still dispassionate. Cami was utterly shocked. "Excuse me? When have you let anyone ever disrespect me? She has put her hands on your future Luna! I want her thrown into the dungeons until the Death Moon!" Cami wailed.

Zeus growled at the thought of his mate being back in the dungeons. Honestly, I didn't like the idea of it either. I was still trying to get back in Janessa's good graces so I could get some more ass. I am wolf enough to admit she was the best lay I have ever had in my life. Her taste, her feel, everything was beyond addicting. And Cami here has not helped my situation. I wonder if I should send her back to her dad until the Death Moon. Surely that would earn me some points with my mate!

I quickly mind-linked Rick and Lucas and told them to find Janessa. I let them know she had attacked Cami and I wanted her in my office immediately for questioning. My insides were jumping for joy at the thought of seeing Janessa and I had to reel myself back in. It was clearly the mate bond, making me feel unnecessary emotions. I checked those emotions and quickly locked them away.

The hair on my body began to rise and I knew my mate was near before I smelled her on the other side of the door. She came into my office with Lucas. Janessa looked at Cami and then back at me before crossing her arms across her chest defiantly. "I know you know why you are here," I gritted out to Janessa as I stalked toward her. I needed to get a little closer so I could discreetly inhale more of her euphoric scent.

"So what, are you going to throw me in the cells or something?" she asked me, looking me dead in the eyes. "Hell no!" Zeus roared in my mind. "Yes! You've disrespected your Luna, you b***h!" Cami spat out before I could even respond. "If that w***e talks to mate like that one more time I will rip her throat out!" Zeus snarled in my head and I could see him pacing back and forth ready to attack. "Why are you just standing there, Hades? Discipline this cunt!" Cami spewed. "Get out!" Zeus roared aloud and shook the room. I had lost control for a split second and Zeus took over.

"W-What?" Cami asked in complete shock. "You heard him, get the f**k out. And go back home to daddy while you're at it, Carrie," Janessa stated in a condescending tone that turned me on more than it should have. She is so gorgeous. "It's Cami!" Cami shouted in fury.

By the looks of it, she might shift at any moment. I realized I needed to de-escalate the situation. "Listen, Cami, why don't you head out and give me a minute to talk to Janessa," I spoke calmly as I placed my large hands on her shoulders. Janessa growled in response and I instantly dropped my hands.

Cami shrieked in my face before storming out and slamming my office door. I looked over at Janessa who had a satisfied smirk on her face. "Oh, you think this is funny?" I questioned her even though I already knew that she did. "Serves her right. And you too. Honestly, you too are made for each other," she said as she rolled her eyes and Zeus growled at her comment. I stalked over to her until her back hit the wall near the door. "You owe me one for making me piss off my chosen mate," I told her. Janessa growled in response.

I smirked at Janessa's jealousy. It shouldn't, but it made me feel good she didn't want to see me with anyone else. Maybe in another life, we could have been something great. I yearned to reach up and caress her cheek. I know she hated intimacy but I needed her close.

"What do you want me to do?" I asked her with sincerity. I would do almost anything to have her in my bed. "What do you mean?" she asked curiously. "To get back to that deal we had on that boat. I want you. All of you," I eyed her hungrily and began to smell faint hints of her arousal.

"I-I don't think we can get back to that deal. You are betrothed to another," she explained with pain in her voice. For some reason, it felt like a crushing pressure was weighing down on my chest and I couldn't breathe. I don't like hearing that sound in her voice, and to make it worse, I put it there. I know I don't deserve her, but I still wanted her for a moment, no matter how selfish I know it sounds. "Please, I will do anything," I pleaded.

"Anything?" Janessa asked while c*****g her eyebrows. I nodded my head, yes, vigorously. "Send that b***h Cindy home to her dad! I don't want to see her face or even breathe the same air as her as long as I am here. Then maybe I will think about allowing you to lay a small kiss on this p***y. But you won't be getting much more than that," she stated as she took a seductive step toward me. My c**k instantly twitched to life. s**t! She was going to be the death of me.

"Done!" I said immediately. "Wh- Done? Just that easy?" she asked in disbelief. "Yup!" I exclaimed with a full smile. She had me smiling a lot lately and little did she know I couldn't wait to get rid of Cami. Janessa took a step back with a mischievous smirk on her beautiful face. "I want her gone by the end of the day," Janessa declared, before walking out of my office. I closed up my laptop and locked my office door to go find Cami so I could get back on my mate's good side!
