VI The World He fell to the floor… His floor! Catus Pompilius groaned, his face wet with tears, his body shaking with terror and sadness. But then his ears heard not the torment and screaming of fell Tartarus, but rather the dark quiet of his own domus. He opened his flooded eyes to see a single ray of light bursting in through the window of his own cubiculum. “What?” He touched the floor, his couch, the table. He ran his hands over his face and head, felt at his back for horrific wounds, and felt nothing wrong. He was home…home…and more importantly, he was alive!
