Venus kept running, even when she fell, she got back up and continued running, she felt so bad leaving Sophie behind, she knew Orpheus was not gonna spare her.

Back in the mansion,Sophie was locked in the antechamber, this was a place meant for defaulters, if you had ever offended a vampire or broken the rules as a vampire, the antechamber was your cell. Sophie was to spend 10 years in there for treason, deep underground in the mansion, Quinn tried to talking to his father but all of it fell in deaf ears….

“Please father, you can’t just lock her up in there ”

“Oh yes, I can”

”Ok fine, but can you please reduce the tenure, she is your child, the last seed of this family, she might die in there especially without blood”Quinn pleaded in sadness

“Hmph…. You know it all” Damion spatted, Quinn gave a sarcastic chuckle

“You know nothing Damion, just shut up ”

“Says someone who was kicked in the groin”Damion retorted, Quinn angrily sped up to him and punched him, this was a part of their vampire powers, they were as fast as the speed of light.

“Enough both of you!!” Orpheus yelled , he exhaled, “I’ve made my decision, as for Venus,we’ll go find her in the morning”he exited the room.

Damion spat and walked out, they began walking out one by one leaving Quinn alone, Quinn leaned on the wall and sniffed, he was the closest to Sophie and it hurt him to know that something terrible was happening to her, after some minutes, he walked out.

CRINGE FOREST- BORDERLINE

Venus rolled over the soft mattress and suddenly landed on the floor with a thud, she woke up in shock, she looked around and found herself in a hut, the hut looked old but clean and neat, she was in a tiny room , animal skin filled the walls and the smell of cooked meat was perceived from outside the room, Venus tried to stare out the door through the dim lights of the room, she slowly got up and peeped, am she saw a man sitting on a stole beside a burning chimney, he was sharpening his knives, Venus heart sunk, she was about going back in when the man saw her….

“You’re awake?”The mah in his mid 50’s asked with a smile

“Who… who are you? What do you want from me?” Venus asked in fear, the man sighed and walked up to her, “I’m not the ad guy ok? Come on sit” he made her sit and gave her a cup of warm herb…

“Here… I saw you unconscious in the daughter, so I and my daughter thought you here ”, it was beginning to rain and the weather became colder.

“Where is your daughter?”Venus asked

“Maya? Maya? The girls awake!!” The man called, in few seconds, a young girl walked in, Venus was dumbfounded and in awe, she looked exactly like Sophie, her hazel eyes, her white hair, white skin that glowed like snow, everything was just perfect as Sophie’s.

“Sophie?” Venus called called softly in shock

“Oh no… her name’s Maya…and pardon my manners, I’m Theo, I actually have a son but he’s gone hunting” Theo responded. Maya handed over to Venus a blanket, Venus took it and smiled, as she mouthed a thank you.

“I know what happened to you, the vampires right?”Theo asked, Venus nodded as she dropped the empty bowl of herb and covered herself in the blanket

“I never knew I was gonna get involved with their family” Venus replied in fear.

“I’m a vampire hunter, I think right now, my family and yourself are the only ones that know their secret” Venus creased her brow indirectly asking for explanations

“They killed my wife while she was pregnant of Maya, she wasn’t even due for delivery, I had to bring out the child myself, that’s the cause of Maya’s muteness” Theo narrated in sadness and anger

“Then why didn’t you just kill them? They have weaknesses right?”

“I can’t… or let me say, I haven’t found a good way yet, they somehow survive under sunlight” Venus sighed and stared at Maya who was putting more fire into the chimney

“She’s just like someone I once knew”

“Oh who? A sister? A friend?” Theo asked with a small smile, Venus looked at him and gave a short smile

“More like a sister” Venus replied with sadness in her eyes.

Just then, the door opened in full force, an image walked in drenched in the heavy rain, it was holding a strange dead creature in his hand as the smell of blood and mud filled the room, the image took off its coat revealing a teenage boy about the age of Quinn, he looked charming, he was tall almost 5’9, he had a perfect jawline and a dark hair, his hazel eyes shone bright as he panted, the water from his hair dripped down his chin to his jaw making him more attractive, but his inner self was something else.

“Hey Dre, you’re back” Theo said as he got up and grabbed the creature from him, it was a dead huge bat, Venus flinched at the sight.

“How was hunting today?”

“Bad” The boy replied as he sat close to Maya,he ruffled his hair. Maya took a plate of food and headed towards Andreas direction.

“Thanks sis” he said about taking the plate from Maya but she moved and went towards Venus. In surprise,Andreas stared at her and saw Venus, he suddenly got up…..

“Who the hell are you? Dad, who is she?” Andreas yelled staring solely at Venus

“Calm down son” Theo said,”She’s an escapee from the vampires clan”

“What? And you brought her here?, what’s she doing here?”

“Look Dre, she needs our help, she needs to get back to New York by tomorrow ”

“Well, she doesn’t need my help, it’s your help, she’s gonna put our lives in danger, can’t you see?” Andreas yelled and glared at Venus, Venus flinched and took her eyes of him as she stared at her plate of food.

“What’s ya problem son? Look at her, she needs help to get away from this place or else Orpheus is either gonna kill her or turn her into one of them”

“And who cares? I don’t f*****g care if she turns into a vampire or dies, after-all my mother also died”

“That doesn’t mean, we’ll let everyone else die”

“ Everyone dies dad, I might die today, you might die today, Maya might die today, we can’t risk our lives and our family just for a goddamn….. orange- haired…… human being” Andreas blurted out after giving Venus a proper look, he glared at her orange hair and her oval face, she was pretty and clean, her red lips were now turn to white due to cold, her thick, long, orange hair swept down her shoulders.

“Shut up Dre, that’s enough, you won’t tell me what to do in my own house, she’s staying till tomorrow, then you will…. You must take her back to New York” Andreas scoffed in disbelief

“Fine, that’s it” Andreas said and walked out angrily. Theo breathed out heavily and sat

“Are you okay sir? I should go so I don’t cause a rift between you and your son” Venus said getting to her feet but Maya held her hand and shook her head sadly.

“You don’t have to go and by the way it’s raining and dark, you’ll go first thing tomorrow morning , okay?” Theo said while Venus nodded.
