The second awakening

The dungeon beneath the Nightfang mansion smelled like blood, stone, and death. Liora tried not to react as she followed Kael and Nyra down the narrow staircase lit by flickering torches. Every scream echoing through the underground halls tightened the knot in her stomach. She had never imagined places like this truly existed. Yet here she was. Walking through a werewolf prison beside an Alpha. Nyra pushed open a heavy iron door at the end of the corridor. Inside, a man lay chained against the wall, bruised and covered in blood. His breathing sounded uneven. Liora immediately recognized him. He was one of the wolves who attacked the mansion earlier. The man lifted his head weakly when Kael entered. Fear flashed across his face. “Alpha…” Kael’s voice remained emotionless. “Who sent you?” The prisoner laughed painfully. “You already know.” “The Council?” “No.” The man coughed blood onto the floor before whispering: “The Shadow Heir.” The room fell silent. Nyra’s expression darkened instantly. Kael stepped closer. “That bloodline died centuries ago.” “So did the Silver Luna,” the prisoner muttered weakly. Liora frowned. “Who’s the Shadow Heir?” Nobody answered immediately. That alone terrified her. Finally, Nyra spoke quietly. “The Shadow Heir was the enemy of the Silver Luna.” Kael’s jaw tightened. “According to the old records,” Nyra continued, “both bloodlines were created to balance each other. One carried the moon’s power… the other carried darkness.” Liora’s pulse quickened. “Darkness?” “The Shadow bloodline could control fear, destruction, even death itself,” Elias explained as he entered the dungeon behind them unexpectedly. “Most believed they were wiped out during the Lunar War.” The prisoner suddenly started laughing again. “You really don’t know anything, do you?” he rasped toward Liora. Kael grabbed the front of his shirt violently. “Talk carefully.” But the man only stared at Liora with wide, almost terrified eyes. “He’s awake,” he whispered. A cold chill crawled down her spine. “Who?” The prisoner swallowed hard. “The Shadow King.” The torches around the dungeon flickered violently. Then every wolf inside the underground prison suddenly began growling. Kael’s expression shifted instantly. He felt it too. A dark energy swept through the dungeon like icy smoke, suffocating and unnatural. Liora’s chest tightened painfully. The crescent mark on her wrist burned again. Then— A voice entered her mind. Find me. Liora gasped and stumbled backward. Kael caught her immediately. “What happened?” She grabbed her head as another vision slammed into her. This time it was stronger. Clearer. She saw a massive battlefield beneath a blood-red moon. Wolves fought everywhere while fire consumed the earth. At the center stood a man dressed entirely in black armor. His face remained hidden in shadows. But his eyes… Glowing silver and black. Terrifying. Ancient. He stood surrounded by bodies without a single wound on him. Then slowly, he turned toward her. As if he could actually see her inside the vision. Liora’s breathing stopped. The stranger smiled faintly. I’ve been waiting for you, little moon. The vision shattered instantly. Liora nearly collapsed, but Kael held her firmly. The dungeon spun around her. “What did you see?” Kael demanded. She looked up at him fearfully. “There’s another one,” she whispered. Nyra cursed under her breath. The prisoner began laughing hysterically now. “You’re already too late,” he wheezed. “He’s growing stronger every night she awakens.” Kael’s eyes darkened dangerously. “Where is he?” The prisoner smirked weakly. “You think he hides from you?” Suddenly, the man’s body jerked violently. Dark veins spread across his skin. Elias stepped back instantly. “Something’s wrong.” The prisoner’s eyes turned completely black. Then his mouth opened unnaturally wide as a distorted voice echoed from inside him. “Tell the Silver Luna…” The torches extinguished all at once. Complete darkness swallowed the dungeon. Liora’s heartbeat thundered. Then the voice returned. Deeper this time. Inhuman. “I am coming for my queen.” The prisoner screamed. A horrifying crack echoed through the room. Then silence. The torches reignited seconds later. The man hung lifelessly in his chains, neck twisted at an impossible angle. Dead. Nobody moved. Even Kael looked unsettled now. Liora stared at the corpse while fear slowly consumed her. The vision. The voice. The Shadow King. This wasn’t just about werewolf packs anymore. Something far older had awakened. And somehow… It was connected to her.
