Callum’s POV
I watched as Alaia made her way upstairs to the room we have all shared since staying here with her grandparents. She seemed fine when she came back from the gym, but the fact that her sleep is so poor she must go to the gym in the early hours of the morning to wear herself out has me concerned. I never worry about her strength. Our mate is one of the strongest people I’ve ever met in my life. I just don’t want her to think she has to carry the burden for everyone. Admittedly though, I find that I do that often as well.
I think it’s something about being the older sibling. We feel an innate need to protect not only our younger siblings, but our family. Being older, to most, means being stronger, smarter, and having the ability to handle more compared to those who are young
