The final round soon began and after a few minutes of fierce battle a winner emerged. The crowd and mostly women where already cheering on the winner as it was an obvious game that the winner can be easily determined even before they are announced.
"Quiet please!" The moderator ordered and roaring crowd slowly became quiet before the moderator continued.
"I must say this game has been the most fierce and corrosive game I've ever moderated. This is also the first time am moderating a gender based game and I must say that as a man am highly disappointed to be among the losing gender, but the must amusing part is that none of this two participants who turned the game around came out as the champion. It's a shame though, but it's obvious that the ladies rule the game today!. The moderator exclaimed.
The crowd began roaring again as they cheered they continued to cheer the champion.
Miller and Davina walked heads down, side by side on the pedestrian lane beside the field where the tournament was held.
"What a game!" Miller exclaimed.
"Well at least a lady won, so you should know to start respecting them." Davina replied.
"I never disrespected th........"
Davina interrupted him with a dagger eyes.
"Ok, let's say I did, but that's because you are annoyingly rude and also think you're smarter than everyone else." Miller said.
"Wow! What a great excuse you've got for your nonchalant attitudes." Davina fired at him.
"Hey, I know I've got attitude issues but you are way worse than I am." Miller defended.
"Oho....there you go again talking carelessly." Davina exclaimed.
The two continued having one disagreement over another untill dey were interrupted by Ashley's harsh voice.
"Hey madam, let's go home, it's getting late." Ashley said, grabbing Davina's left hand.
"We were going to have a few drinks." Miller said, grabbing Davina's right hand.
"Hey, am not interested in having any drink with you." She said, forcefully releasing her hand from Miller's grip as she looked very angered and disappointed for not being able to exert her revenge by winning against him and having him apologise to her in front of the crowd.
Davina and Ashley walked towards their Black SUV which was parked at the other side of the road and just as she was about opening the door to the seat beside the driver's seat, Miller prevented her from doing so by firmly holding the doorknob.
"Are you disappointed you couldn't get back at me?" Miller asked, smiling slyly at Davina who was now more infuriated by Miller's gesture.
She ignored Miller's statement and tried to open the door again by forcefully pulling Miller's hands from the doorknob but Miller quickly grabbed her hands and held her back to the car.
"I will give you a chance to do that." Miller said, hoping to comfort Davina.
"Do I look like am desperate for chances? You know the saying "When one door is closed another one would be open.' So am confident that another better opportunity will surely come soonest." Davina fired.
"But you sure look like you are damn desperate for opportunities just like the way you hired people to paste the Tournament poster all over my street." Miller said, grinning.
"Wha.....t ar..e you talk....ing abo..it?" Davina stuttered, feigning ignorance.
"You very well know what am talking about, beloved." Miller mocked. "So shall we?" He asked.
Davina turned to look at Ashley who was already outrightly irritated and angered by Davina's continues bickering with Miller.
"Don't tell me you are giving I'm to that s**t he just said?" Ashley asked angrily.
"Why don't you leave before me? I would come back home after I grab a few drinks with him." Davina said and Ashley left angrily with a reply or consent to her
Miller walked Davina into his golden Ford and drove her to the nearest bar.
What drink would you like to have?" Miller asked as he called on the bartender.
"Blanc de Noirs champagne." She replied.
Miller smiled, "You sure know know your drinks."
He ordered the bartender to bring two bottles of champagne and also two champagne flutes.
"One would have been just fine." Davina suggested.
"I told you I would be giving you a chance to get back at me. Now is the time Beloved, let's see who drops down first." Miller explained.
"Woah........., I wasn't expecting that, but you would have to hire a driver to take you home once you dropped down like a dead fly today because am not planning on being the nice one here." Davina bragged.
"Seems like bragging makes you feel relieved, right?
Davina shrugged her shoulder, "Maybe."
Miller stared at the one woman whose case has been a mystery to the FBI for the past two years. He'd never met a woman with whom he enjoyed verbally sparing with as much as he did with Davina. She was one of the most intelligent and quick-witted woman he'd ever met.
"You might pierce me with your glare." Davina remarked noticing the way Miller was glaring at her.
"It's very uncomfortable and I hope you don't expect to solve my mystery just by glaring, do you? She asked in an unfriendly tone.
Miller gave her a cocky smile. "I wasn't actually looking to solve any mystery." He paused for a while as if looking for a perfect statement to throw Davina off the radar and make her drink aggressively. "You are no mystery Beloved." He continued, pissing her totally off.
Following the way she short lasers at him with her eyes before turning to have a non-stop five shots of champagne, it was obvious his planned worked perfectly on her.
"I'm just going to win this thing and be done with............hoping never to see you again." She said angrily in a drunken manner.
Miller smiled cunningly. "Let's do that for sure."
"Whatever." She said.
Hey............., What's with you?" She exclaimed out of the blue as she shook her head sideways with an unsteady gaze showing all signs of being very drunk.
"What?" Miller wondered. How was a man supposed to know what a woman meant when she talked in circles.
"What's with that thing you keep calling me?" She asked.
"Can you come straight forward? Am totally confused." Miller exclaimed as he wondered what this woman could be trying to say.
"Don't act all clueless, you kept calling me 'Beloved'". She fired at him.
Miller laughed at her quick-witted response. He drew a deep breath inward so as to control his laughter before he could reply her.
"I just called your name in a different language." He replied.
"What are you saying?" Davina wondered, placing her arms on the table with her palms covering her both cheeks as she pout her face very close to his.
"Hey, Do you even know the meaning of you name?" Miller asked. The look on Davina's face made it obvious that she was clueless about her own name.
Miller smirked, "Davina means Beloved so you shouldn't have problems with me calling you your name in another language."
"Welllll, I still do ha....ve a pro...blem wi....th that.." She stuttered still staggering on the chair.
"Well that's your problem not mine because that's what I would be calling you for as long as I see you so you better get acquainted to it."
"Then I guess I can't stop calling you Mr. Bravado as well."
"But why would you even call me that because I know that's not the meaning of my name. Or do you adore me that much.?" Miller asked looking confused even though he had a cocky smile carved on his lips.
"tsh.........., that's because you have an annoying and despicable way of showing defiancy and insane posing of fake courage." She fired at him.
"Wow, I didn't know you could curse so perfectly." He wondered.
"Well, you still have alot to learn." She smirked.
They both continued to argue over drinks untill Davina got wasted and doze off with her head banging the table hard. Miller on the other hand decided to stop drinking and thought of a way to get her home. He didn't have her address so he thought the best thing to do was to take her to his house.
He carried her on his arms in bridal style and laid her at the back seat of his car. He drove as slowly as possible so as not to get into trouble with the traffic wardners for drinking and driving and also to prevent Davina from falling off since she wasn't putting on a seat belt.
