“How long do you think you could run from Godfather?” Davina Browns muttered as she tightened her grip on Landon Scott’s neck making it impossible for him to breathe properly.
“Stealing his ammunition has been a hectic and stressful one for us to conceal. Then, diverting the attention of his business partners made things worse. Now you have the guts to try selling him off to his adversaries. And you still think you could hide from him?”
“Well sorry to disappoint you, he has sent me after you and you very well understand what that means.” Davina said, giving Landon a killer glare.
Landon shivered in fear for he very well knows that Davina meant every word she uttered.. "You have an option to choose how you want to die” Davina said while gently releasing her grip on his neck making him fall slowly on his knees. “My action can be adequately justified, please hear me out” Landon cried out. Davina looked around the empty warehouse and pulled a chair to herself. She sat down on it and ordered Landon to explain himself since that was probably his last wish.
AN HOUR LATER
Davina drove her red sedan out of the warehouse kicking up the dry Henderson dust as she started down the lane leading to her Godfather’s mansion. She looked rather tense and confused probably as a result of what she heard from Landon Scott.
Perfectly parking her car on the available parking space just right in front of Domino Creed's mansion she hurriedly walked inside the building, demanding his presence from the guards surrounding the compound. Domino walked into the living room where Davina was eagerly waiting for him. He dismissed his guards and other domestic staff present in the living room and spread his arms wide open urging Davina to come for a warm embrace. He saw the hesitation in Davina’s eyes and asked as politely as possible about what was troubling her.
“What’s troubling my Goddaughter?” He asked politely.
“Landon said something before I shut him up." Davina replied.
“And what was that?” Dom asked, this time frowning as if he had something to hide.
“He said not to trust anything you say about my past for they are all lies.” Davina replied looking tense.
Domino threw back his head and laughed like a damn hyena, infuriating Davina further. “So why tell me if you don’t even trust me?” he said, trying to catch his breath.
Davina paused for a while to get her scrambled thoughts together before saying anything further. “That’s because I don’t believe him because you’ve been there for me ever since my acci…….”
”Ever since you were a little girl honey." Domino corrected her even before she could complete her sentence in which she nodded in agreement.
“I was just about to have my lunch and I wouldn’t mind if you join me." He said, taking a sip off his glass of water.
Smiling faintly, she replied, “That would be great but I have a lot to do right now, Godfather."
“Well then, guess I will be seeing you soon." He sighed.
AVANTI LANE, HENDERSON..................FEW HOURS LATER
Davina sat with her back propped against the headboard of the bed thinking about what Landon had said to her earlier at the warehouse.
Could it be that what she said to her Godfather was all she heard from Landon? Probably not, they must have been more to it after all this was not the first time she was hearing rumors about her past.
Giving up on her thought, she stood up from the bed and proceeded to get something to eat when she heard a loud infuriating voice of Domino Creed coming from outside her two story building. She hurriedly went down stairs to confirm if she'd heard right.
“Since when did you start making such silly mistakes?” Dom fired at Davina who was just coming downstairs with no idea of the situation. She looked around her crew members {who were already standing heads down in front of Dom} in search of answers. Dom walked towards the Television and switched the already playing drama to a news channel.
The news was talking about a recent murder at the exact same warehouse where Davina was earlier today but the victim was yet to be recognized. She looked up at Dom while trying to come up with an explanation but was abruptly interrupted by him. “Lay low for now while I try to clear up the mess you’ve created”.
“But I didn't....................…..”
"No buts, just do exactly as you are told and move to Eureka. Stay quietly in my place at Rosewood and don’t cause any further trouble." Dom said while heading back with his bodyguards to his car.
“Godfather that's not fair”.” Davina cried out. “I would be as good as useless over there” she further added.
Dom stopped halfway outside the building and turned back facing the crew. “What now?” Davina wondered.
Smiling, he gazed at the attractive lady standing in front of him. She had a passion that wouldn’t quit, that must have been what he loved the most about her and desperately wants her working for him.
Turning back and moving towards his car, he said “Lest I forget Goddaughter, you will be moving over there with Ashley Johnson and you both would be overseeing the shipments which would be transported there a few days from now." He drove out of the compound right after his statement.
Exactly what Davina needs to get her day going perfectly. She was a woman of passion who loved to work her ass up and never gave any special attention to herself. Any lady in their vicenarian would be more interested in money, partying and men, but that was not the case for Davina. She would rather spend a whole day cleaning her weapon rather than partying with friends. Well she had no friends; only crew mates. She was a smart, strong, reserved and vibrant lady whom women and even men of her age admired. Not only was she great at using weapons, she was also a great fist fighter.
Smiling, she said to Ashley who was her second in command. “Don’t just stand there looking at me, start packing up, we've got a long tiresome journey to make."
