Chapter 4: Ran Away

When I arrived home Nana was surprised why I came home early. I told here to pack a bag for me for I am leaving that night for Chicago. "What? is something wrong dear?" she asked. I cried and told her everything. She try to calm me down and she lead me to my room. She packed my bag and I talked with my Aunt, in just a matter of minutes I am ready to fly. "Nana you are going to pay me a visit there, okay?" I asked, " Yes dear, and everything will soon be alright, you are still young and a lot of opportunity and young men are waiting for you there. I hugged Nana and she brought me to the airport, I told her not to give them my new number, even to Dylan.
Stephen was uneasy, where is she? why is she not here yet? He spotted Dylan. "Dylan, is Samantha with you? I tried to look for her anywhere but I did not see her." "What I thought she is already here with you. I introduced her to your Mom and Dad when we spotted you, I got caught up by Marvin". Dylan answered. " I wonder where she go, she doesn't know anyone". Stephen said. "Hon there you are, sorry I was caught up for a while, a stupid girl bumped me and I need to talk her out". Sophia said. " A girl, what she looked like?" Stephen asked. "She is that tall but with braces on her teeth, and she is clumsy" she answered. "s**t," Dylan said, "Where did she go" " I don't know, she looks weird as if she is about to cry and just holding back the tears, she even bit her lips" she answered. "Damn it" Stephen uttered, " If you will excuse us for a while Sophie, I need to settle on something with Dylan, please enjoy yourself, okay" he kissed her on the check. Stephen walk with Dylan following him. "Stephen, there you are" his mom called. " I have something for you Samantha handed it to me a while ago and she said Happy Birthday" his mom said. "Where is she mom? and why didn't she give it to me herself?" he asked. "That's what I told her but instead she cried and before I could ask her again, she ran away." his mom told him." Just where did you last see her mom, before she ran away?" he asked. "She was standing just behind you and Eric and then she turned around and bumped Sophia, and she approached me and asked me a favor." his mom answered. "Thanks mom" he answered. "Hey what is it? Dylan asked. "She might heard me talking with Eric that she is not my type and I don't like to kiss her" Stephen said."What, and why is she upset by the way?"Dylan asked. "I never noticed it myself, but Eric does, Samantha do have a crush on me. " he answered. "Holy s**t" Dylan said and tried to reach his phone, he dialed Sam's number but the phone was off. They ran inside the house and called her landline but nobody answered. Dylan called Nana, it took 5 ring before she answered. "Nana is Samantha with you?" Dylan asked. "I just came from the airport, she fly to Chicago,"Nana answered. "What, without saying goodbye?" Dad will surely freak out." Dylan said. "She promised to call your dad when she arrived."
"I never noticed that she has feeling for you". Dylan said to Stephen. Stephen did not say anything, instead he opened the gift she give to him. He was shocked when he see the gift, a very expensive gift and a note that said, "Money is nothing if you buy something special for someone special, I bought this for you so that when you wear this one you will remember me, wherever we are, Happy Birthday and may you be happy today" Always Samantha. Wow how could I be happy when you ran away, how could I tell you that you are special to me as well? Stephen did not noticed that a tear falls down from his eyes, not until he heard Dylan"You okay bro?" Stephen blink and wipe the tear and answered "Ya! I am, sorry I want to be alone for a while. He promised to himself he is going to wear the watch wherever he go, for that is the only remembrance he got from her, as to when he will see and talk with her again, time will tell.
