"Don't you think it's high time we let him know who we truly are? I mean we can't continue hiding away, can we? The full moon is approaching.
We must find the cure, otherwise, you will transform completely and then we won't be able to do anything, "Ladder's sister told him.
"Do you think I'm happy staying here? I just act like a fool to achieve my goals. I'm fully aware that the full moon is approaching but what was I supposed to do? I can't possibly leave without it, all we can do now is hope we find it sooner" he concluded, taking a seat on the sofa behind him.
"Can I ask a question? You should be honest with me, telling me the truth is the only way to get you out of this mess, so I expect you to say nothing but the truth" she muttered.
"What do you mean by that? What mess? Go on ask your questions"
"Do you have a thing for her?" She asked. He raised his head to glare at her. The question wasn't something he would have easily admitted but at this point, he could only tell his sister.
"Who? Who are you talking about?" He stuttered, acting like he had no idea of what she asked.
"Oh spare me the pretense! You thought I was too daft to notice what's going on? You can lie to any other person, not me, your eyes say it all. It is f*****g written all over your face so why do you still deny it?"
"I never lied, I have had a thing for her since the very first day he brought her but what about him? He only treated her like a piece of trash. He badly wants to end her life but what happens afterwards?
The moon goddess mated her to him just to make sure she suffered. At this point, I'm not letting go easily".
"I'm fully in support of you. Lorenzo has been a big bully since day one, he never loved us, he just did all that to make his dad feel good, he's a wolf in sheep's clothing"
"He warned me to stay miles from her, well, I'm not obeying him this time around. He should do whatever he sees fit. I'm fully prepared for whatever he's up to.
"Ain't you scared? What if he decides to hold us captive like he's doing to her?" She asked, making him pause.
"You don't have to worry, he won't dare such". "And how sure are you that he won't do so? If he can suffer his mate ignoring the mate bond even though he suffers afterwards then who are we? It would be easy for him to snap us out without a second thought" she stated further.
"You worry too much, let's just wait till he tries something funny, stop imagining weird things that are never going to happen" he cut her off, not wanting to say anything further about the matter.
"How can this be? Why my mate of all people? There are thousands of wolves in the pack. Why is he only interested in mine?" He asked as he paced in his chamber, not expecting to get an answer but his wolf answered him.
"You shouldn't be asking such questions cos it only proves how dumb you are. You turned our mate into your slave, you f*****g made our mate suffer" Jack, his mate, quarreled with him.
"Oh Jack, don't even start, don't blame me cos if you were in my shoes you would do the same" he snapped back trying to shut him off.
"Don't you dare! If you shut me off this time around I will ignore you whenever you need my help" Jack fired, making his head hurt.
"Now what the hell do you want me to do?"
"Release our mate! Now you still stand a chance in gaining her back since she doesn't have any feelings for Ladder, once that happens you have lost her forever." Jack said, trying to make him see the reasons.
"No! I will do no such thing, I can't possibly let her go, never!" He replied adamantly.
"Keeping her away will only attract more attention to her. I mean have you ever thought of the guards? They are all carried away by her beauty, who wouldn't? What if they try to have their way with her? You seem to have forgotten about her enchantment. The day another lays a hand on our mate you will be as good as dead! Don't tell me you forgot so soon?" Jack blurted.
"I never told you I forgot, I still have everything intact, but still, that's not enough reason for me to let her go. You don't have to worry about the guards having their way with her, they won't even dare".
"What exactly is your problem? Why are you being selfish? You don't care to know how I feel every time you treat our mate badly, I'm the one suffering for your stupidity isn't it obvious? I agree the guards wouldn't dare but what of Ladder?
Do you think he's gonna continue putting up with your silly behavior? You don't care to know the damages your mistakes are gonna cause us. What if she willingly succumbs to him? You have until tonight to release our mate or count me out in anything you do afterward!" Jack Grumbled, shutting him off before he could do so.
"What the hell is wrong with Jack? Why is he supporting her?" He pondered.
Cara paced around the room worriedly, Lorenzo's attitude towards her lately was becoming alarming.
"I can't possibly sit and watch him get attached to another, no, not after all I sacrificed for him" She lamented.
"I think you are overthinking things, it doesn't seem like he has a thing for her, we both know she hates him to the core so obviously there's no way he will fall for her so chill" her friend assured her.
"No! I'm not convinced yet, but I must do something as fast as possible. I can't allow him to set her free ever" she blubbered, rushing out of the room.
