"You this silly wolf! You are not permitted to have a thing for him can't you get it? You can't be weak and at the same time dumb!" She snapped at her wolf.
But he's our mate, he's everything a woman would ever want in a man. He's cute, he's handsome, I'm already imagining how his hands would feel on me, Gawd I'm so excited" Lara her wolf gushed happily.
"How can you be so daft? How can you be happy with him when he's treating us like trash, as if you are the one suffering? He's our mate doesn't mean a thing! I suggest you stop whatever thing you have in that silly mind of yours before it is too late. I don't and can never like him, get that into your thick skull!" She snapped.
"Why are you being selfish? I like him, isn't it obvious?" Lara fired back.
"Selfish you say? The selfish one here is you and you alone. I hate him, can't you feel it? He's been so mean to me and you still expect me to harbor some sort of stupid stuff called love for him? You are obviously out of your senses". She fired, shutting her off.
"Why's everyone against me? Even the weak wolf who was supposed to be supporting me is here falling head over heels for him" she thought, sitting up and waiting to see who was opening the door.
Her mind skipped the moment she saw who it was, it was the least of the persons she had expected to see today.
"Long time no see b***h! Thought you might need this so I decided to get it for you. You know people who don't get to see what the outside looks like tend to be so silly when they see humans" Cara, his mistress, mocked her.
Even after he warned her to bring the food to him so he could bring it on his own, she went ahead and disobeyed.
"Please Cara I'm not in the mood for your trouble, just let me be! Go! Take whatever you have in there and don't even show your ugly face to me". She yelled but was interrupted by an eye-blinding slap on her right Cheek.
"How dare you! Who do you think you are? Even in your unfortunate situation you still feel you can boss me around? Oh wow! Just wow" Cara mumbled, clapping her hands.
"What do you want? What have I ever done to you? You have hated me since the very first day I came into the castle, what's my offense?" She sniffed, holding her burning cheeks.
"What's your offense you ask? Everything is your fault, absolutely everything! Your nightmare began the day you got mated to the man I love. I wanted to take it easy with you at first even after I knew he had an eye for you, I ignored it but the moon goddess failed me. She made matters worse by mating a cursed wolf like you to him" Cara snapped kicking her roughly on her belly.
By now, she was already on the floor gasping for breath, but Cara couldn't care less. All she wanted was to end her life.
"And you think getting rid of me will make him love you? it will only increase his hatred towards you. You can never be his mate can't you understand the writing on the wall? You can continue trying your best but keep me out of it, please" she pleaded.
"Keep you out of this? He would only look at my path when you are no more. Only when you are dead will he come running into my hands. I would have spared you, but because you stand as a threat to me, I must get rid of you! It's something I must do, a project I must accomplish" Cara snapped, grabbing her neck.
She couldn't fight back due to the big chain on her hands and neck. She could only sit and watch Cara strangle the daylight out of her.
She was almost giving up when someone quickly rushed In.
Cara who was so engrossed in killing her didn't even bother to look at who came in.
She was about to add a second hand when suddenly the hand grabbed her from behind.
"Don't you think you have done enough? What's the poor girl's offense? Why must you vent out your anger on the innocent girl?" Ladder who was standing beside them questioned.
Cara immediately sprang up knowing fully well that she was in trouble, the beta wouldn't let her off not after what he just saw.
"I came here to drop her food and all of a sudden she began insulting me. I got really mad and had to punish her" Cara lied. Jenny, who couldn't utter a word, only managed to shake her head negatively.
"Are you sure that's what happened? Now report yourself to the alpha make sure you narrate exactly what happened else I'm telling him myself. Now f**k off!" He ordered.
"Please Don't report to him, I won't try such behavior ever again, please I will do anything you say just mention it, I will do anything it is just forgive me this once" Cara apologized.
"Let this be the last time you ever bully her, hope I made myself clear?"
"Yes my lord" Cara muttered With her head bent to the ground.
Cara stormed out without a second thought.
"Are you okay?" Ladder asked, helping her up.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She managed to mutter.
He then placed the tray of food right in front of her then told her to eat.
She slowly dug into the food, eating as gently as possible.
"Don't you think it's high time you fight for yourself? Are you just gonna allow them to treat you like trash forever?"
At first, she kept mute but after some time, she decided to open up to him.
Seconds turned to minutes and minutes.
She kept telling him many things and at that moment he ended up hugging her. It was then that Lorenzo came in.
