Chapter Five

"What? How can that be? What do you mean by he already released her? Why are you just telling me this?" Cara fired at the maid she met on her way to the dungeon.
"I'm sorry my lady, I thought you were already aware of it. Please pardon me my lady" the maid apologized.
"So this is how you are going to pay me back after everything? Indeed people can't be trusted. He's suddenly choosing his mate over me after all I did for him? No! I must not allow this, either I have him or no one will" she muttered, balling her fist.
"My lady, are you okay?" The maid asked, showing her concerns.
"Get out! It's none of your business, I said get out you fool, why can't you just mind your business for once in your unfortunate life? Let me be, is that too much to ask for? You keep following me around like I'm some sort of a kid, who even assigned you to be my maid?
Among all the maids in this castle, why must I have a loser like you as a maid? Gawd I feel like strangling you right now, you irritate me just get out! I just hate you, get out!" She yelled, pushing her roughly. She almost fell but didn't. Without saying anything further she rushed out in tears wondering what was her offense.
"Everyone is just annoying. Gawd I'm losing my mind" she muttered.
"Your majesty" the guards bowed allowing him access into the dark room in the Dungeon. "Hey you come with me", he told one of them who hurriedly ran after him to avoid trouble.
She could be seen lying unconsciously on the floor at the edge of the room with the chains tied tightly to her wrists and ankles.
"Here!" He handed the guard the clothes he came with. He placed his two hands together bringing out a sudden fireball which he placed on the edge of the chain. After a few minutes of incantations, the chains came crashing on the floor, meanwhile, she was still unconscious.
They took the clothes from the guards and then began zipping down the one she was wearing.
"Don't tell me you are changing her dress in front of the guards around! Save her some face will you?" Ladder said, appearing behind him.
"You dare not tell me what to do! Who do you think you are to command me? She's my mate so I do whatever I feel like doing with her and I don't think you have any right to interfere in my affairs. I'm still your alpha, remember?" He asked with a smirk playing on the corner of his lips.
"And that's the reason I have been letting you off every single time! Being the alpha doesn't change the fact that I'm your brother", Ladder blubbered making him chuckle.
"Brother you said? And who told you so? Where the hell are you getting all this silly information?
You are not and can never be my brother! You are nothing but a helpless soul who my father picked from the street, fed you, clothed you, and even gave you the chance to be addressed as his son. What exactly made you think I took you as my brother? I have hated you from the very first day you walked into the pack. Everything was fine until you came with your ill-fated sister.
You took everything that ever belonged to me, my dad chose you over me; he cherished you more than he did me. You are one of the reasons I turned this way you fool! If Father had been alive, he would have probably made you the alpha. He could have f*****g chosen you over me" Lorenzo roared.
"So this was it all along? You could have told me earlier, you should have told us. I knew you never for once took us as your siblings, you only pretended while father was alive, and your behavior changed the day father died. My sister and I have been trying our best to act as if we have no slightest idea of what you were up to. I'm not surprised cos I knew a long time ago that this would come. I just didn't think it would come so suddenly. Feel free to do whatever you want. I'm ready for you! And for your information, my sister and I are leaving the pack first thing tomorrow morning"
"As if I wanted you to stay. Go ahead and leave, I'm not stopping you!" He yelled at the top of his voice.
"You think treating her like trash will make her love you? You must be daft to have thought that. You are gonna spend the rest of your life paying for your mistakes, mark my words", with that being said Ladder walked out of the dungeon.
"Take her to my chamber, freshing her up", He instructed the three maids he came with before storming after Ladder.
"You mean you said all that? You shouldn't have gone that far, don't you think that was too much? You could have briefly told him we are leaving the pack" His sister quarreled with him in his chamber (Ladder's chamber).
"I tried keeping my cool but every single thing he does pushes me to the wall. I couldn't imagine someone trampling on me severally all in the name of being the alpha" He paused facing his sister.
"Trust me we are leaving here for good and no one can stop us. We are leaving for a place where we can have peace of mind. Remember, the pack needs us, we can't continue wasting our time on someone who doesn't see us as anything, come on, we have had enough!"
Jenny moved uncomfortably on the bed in the alpha's chamber, the maid who helped her with her bath left not quite long.
She had expected to see herself on the floor in the dungeon when she woke up but no, it was a different case.
"Seems he finally decided to free me, how dumb!" She muttered looking around the room. She needed no one to tell her it was his suit.
"Now it's my turn to make him suffer! Lorenzo watch your back!"
