The cafeteria was noisy and lively as usual. The girls and I were seated at our usual table with a plate of salad and sparkling water....as usual.
Sam is seated at our table being loud and chatty as usual. But you know what isn't usual?..the whole time we were seated, he has been talking about some girl, which is usual of course. The thing is, he is talking about some girl who he likes but for some reasons doesn't like him back. Now that's some unusual s**t.
Okay so unlike most of us at the Academy, Sam is a hopeless romantic....which of course nobody knows about but I've seen him read the most cliché romance book and I've equally seen him get teary watching the Titanic...but that's our secret.
He has never dated anyone from the Academy, just a few college girls and his last relationship was with a staff that works on his dad's yacht but just like his other relationships, it barely lasted three months because he never liked them enough to be in a relationship, he just wanted to have a round with them but doesn't think it's right having s*x with someone you aren't dating so he date them for a while. How Noble.
"Maybe she's just playing hard to get" I said.
"Yeah I thought so too..but I doubt that now, I don't even think she's human anymore, she's always excusing herself from class every minute and she's freaking smart...oh and at lunch break, she just disappears" he sighed and rest his chin on his head.
"Have you tried... getting her flowers or cards" I have to admit I'm quite curious about who the girl is though.
"Well...I did get her flowers but she started sneezing and coughing immediately...turns out she's allergic to pollen"
"What's her name"
"Hailey"
"I'm sure Hailey will come around" I assured him.
"I hope.... I'm really into her you know" he said scratching the back of his neck.
"Hey Flower"
I turned to see Noah taking a seat next to me.
"Hi Noah"
" I've been sending you texts and notes in class.. you didn't get them?"
"Oh you mean the Weird Animal facts?"
"Yes"
"I didn't get them" I shook my head and shrugged
He laughed and pinched my neck
"Hey!!" I hit him on his shoulders
"Uh...you guys seem...closer"
"Yeah are you guys like a thing now?"
I looked up to see the girls looking at me wide eyes
"Eww..barf...Nooo" I said quickly
"Ouch" he held his chest feigning pain.
"Well.. she's right though, I'm still trying to win her heart" He added and smiled looking at me.
It skipped
My heart skipped!
My freaking heart freaking skipped!!
And now I'm smiling like an i***t.
"Not in this lifetime black" I said in between the smile that refused to leave my face.
That was so awkward..why did I said that?
I'm I imagining things or did I just see a glint of hurt in Noah Black's eyes?yup I'm totally imagining things.
And just when I thought I was able to shut him up, he said
"You are following the script perfectly Flower"
"What script?"
He stood up and leaned his face closer to my ear, I felt my heart beating really fast and oh boy I think my heart just paused.
"Please don't bite my ear off" I said pleadingly
"What the.."
"Oh my goodness, did she just say that?"Tessa said
"So we all agree I'm not the dumb one right?" Chloe added
"You really are something Flower" Noah said with a smirk.
"I was going to say you were following the script of movie" he added
"What movie?" I asked
"The girl who swore she won't fall for the bad boy but she does and they get all mushy and live happily ever after......T....G...uhm..W..S...SWFF..TBB..BSDA..TG ...ANA...LHE....A for short"
He smirked.
"That's an awfully long title" Sam said
"I can't even watch that for my life" Delilah added.
"Kiss you later Flower" he winked and strolled off
"Sooo...you guys huh?" Delilah asked
"Nothing!..I swear if I get Bewitched and ended up dating him you guys will be the first to know"
"Well..he seems to be into you" Sam said
"He's Noah... he's into everybody" I stood up "I'll head to class first"
"Wait up...I want to leave too..you girls coming?" Sam asked but they seem too engrossed with their phones to hear us.
We left the cafeteria but not without me noticing the girl from drama club staring at me and when I looked at her she gave a small smile and turned her face away.
"Who's that girl?" I asked Sam
"Which girl?" He asked as we got to the hallway
"Nevermind"
