ADRIA
.
"Please father..." Aria pleaded desperately "Please call off this marriage. I don't want to get married to him." She pleaded, her knees on the ground as she cried out her heart profusely.
Adria felt nothing but pity and empathy for her twin. She wanted so help her out so badly but she couldn't because her hands were tied, not to mention that her father was a stubborn man who would stop at nothing to see his wishes get fulfilled until the very end.
Yes, that's how badly it was. Things really took a turn for the worse after their mother's death and although her father loved them and had tried to protect them more, she also felt that somehow, he was imposing his wishes on them.
"Your full marriage celebration would be held in two days Aria." He told her instead "So get yourself ready because the Lycan king would be coming in two days to fetch his bride."
"Don't you love me at all?" She whimpered, tears trailing down her cheeks "Why can't you just understand that I don't want this father. I have met him and he isn't the one for me."
"You will get used to it my child. I promise that you will. My hands are tied and I cannot go against the Lycan king even if I wanted to." He explained "Cullen is the most feared ruler across the lands. Rejecting this alliance is not an option and even if I should, the repercussions would be deadly."
"And you're okay with giving me to him?" She questioned, with teary eyes "You're selling off your daughter to a man that even you are scared of so, what about me? Do you want me to live the rest of my life in fear? Is that it?"
"He has promised—"
"f**k those promises father!" She cussed in anger while Adria silently watched the exchange between the two of them. "Didn't you hear the stories about his previous Luna? Rumour has it that she died because of him."
"Rumours my dear and I have lived long enough to know that not all rumours turn out to be true. This matter has put a strain on me and I don't wish to discuss it any longer so please, let it go." She whispered dismissively.
"I don't like him." Aria repeated continuously "I don't like him and I don't want to get married to him. I'd kill myself if I have to but I will not be dragged into this mess." She shook her head vehemently.
"Aria!" He barked furiously. "You will get married to him!"
"And If you force me to get married to him then get ready to present my corpse as a bride to your so called Lycan king." And with that, Aria stormed out of the courtroom in rage.
Adria made to chase after her but her father's next words stopped her.
"Make sure she doesn't do anything stupid." He warned her.
"Aria is very upset father. I have never seen her this way. Are you sure that we should go through with this?" She asked worriedly. Her eyes reflecting the visible worry that she carried within.
"Talk to her. She's your sister. Make her understand how important this is. She'll definitely listen to you."
Aria? Listen to her? That's a first. Her sister would rather walk around the jaws of death before she would listen to a thing she says but who was she to go against her father.
"She shouldn't try anything stupid otherwise, I won't take it lightly with her." He warned and with a nod, she ran out of the courtroom in search of Adria.
Outside she bumped into Declan who was on his way to see her father.
"Slow down" He held her place the minute she crashed onto his chest.
"A-Aria, I'm scared that something might happen to her." She rushed out her words before she could stop them.
"She took the stairs that leads to your chambers so don't worry, she won't try to take her life."
She breathed heavily. The burden on her chest suddenly becoming lighter.
"Can you please talk to father Declan? Maybe he would listen to you concerning this matter." I pleaded but the look on his face told me that he was going to say no.
"I wish I could Adria, believe me but your father won't listen to me. I might be his Beta but we both share distinct views and trust me, it wouldn't be easy to get him on board with me." He explained "I'm really sorry though."
"It's okay Declan."
"I know that you both are scared of the outcome of this alliance but believe me, it is for your own benefit. Your father wouldn't do something if he didn't have a reason or plan behind it"
"I'll go to Aria now" she pulled away from his grip and headed for the stairs to their chambers. The minute she arrived, she pushed the door open and allowed herself in.
"What are you doing?" She asked, stunned at the sight in front of her. Aria was folding you her clothing and stuffing them Into a bag that she had never seen before.
"Are you planning on escaping?" Her heart skipped a beat at the possibility of it being true. Had Aria always planned to run away or was she the one not paying attention to her sister.
"Help me escape!" She blurted. Her eyes held conviction and utter seriousness.
Adria shook her head vehemently "Where are you going? What are you planning to do. Whatever you're thinking, let it go Aria. It's not worth it"
"I'm better off as a rogue than having to live my life as a wife to a man that I have never met before. The human world has a lot of things to offer Adria and I'm sorry but I'm not about to choose this family over my happiness. You all didn't choose me In the first place after all." She threw more stuff in as she spoke.
"Father will come for you." She reminded her "He would turn the entire world upside down if he had to. As your sister, I support you but as the daughter of the Alpha king of this pack, I am pleading with you to rethink your decision"
"Then what do you want me to do?"
"No matter what happens, your marriage has been fixed and you of all people should know that father do not bluff. He doesn't no matter what."
