“Leah?” My voice was barely a whisper, but in the silence of that vast hall it rang louder than any scream. Her wide eyes locked on mine, disbelief etched across her face. “Maeve? What the hell—” She cut herself short, her gaze snapping toward Lucian. Her whole body stiffened, rage flashing across her expression. “What are you doing here with her?” The sound of her voice, angry and protective, tugged at something deep inside me—hope. Relief. She was here. She’d come for me. Somehow, she’d found me in this maze of shadows and secrets. I stumbled forward a step, my throat tight. “Leah, how—how are you here? Did you come looking for me?
