DENI’S POV She slowly turned and saw that the men all knelt down and bowed to him. They were acknowledging his arrival she knew. She felt so awkward and uncomfortable. And soon the terrible feeling that she was never going to be comfortable here scared her to wits. She was always and forever going to be nothing but an outsider to them. He shouted in Gaelic and his men too shouted in unison. She was too shy to even look around. “My wife.” He said. Then it dawned on her that he was introducing her to them. She wanted the ground to open up and swallow her whole. What was that? My wife? Was that it? She turned carefully and saw that all eyes were on her and she sharply turned away.
