VANESSA SUMMERS
Zoe tried to convince me Kelvin wasn’t worth the tears and I knew she was right but her words and my knowledge did nothing to stop the tears from falling. It was like an endless steady stream that left my eyes swollen and my nose red.
She tried to make me laugh and even though it worked, a memory of the bastard would flash in my mind and the tears would return.
Kelvin had been my first and I had thought he would be the only guy I gave my body to but that was gone. All I had left was pain and hurt which I knew I deserved for being a gullible stupid cunt.
“You aren’t a gullible stupid cunt.” Zoe groaned.
She managed to look worse than I did having stayed up most of the night trying to cheer me up. There was no cheering me up. I was a lost cause.
“You aren’t a lost cause!” Zoe yelled.
It was like my world had been crushed by an extinction level meteorite that had come for once purpose and one purpose only; the total annihilation of everything.that made me happy.
I must be the most miserable cunt in the world right now.
“That part.” Zoe paused. “Now that part is legit. You are the most miserable cunt in the world right now.”
“Gee thanks.” I folded back into my previous fetal position on the bed. I was about to go through a fresh batch of tears. I could feel my tear glands flexing.
“It’s true and that’s only because you let it. Do you think for one second that the d**k face you’re crying over is feeling a shred of guilt at this moment?”
“No?” I moaned.
“No.” She said with conviction. “No he isn’t.”
“You know why?” Zoe asked.
“Because he is knee deep in the two bitches he was with. His sweet d**k must be doing the job it was created for.”
“Stop it!” I yelled into the sheets.
Zoe pulled me up. “Hell no. You need to hear the painful truth.”
It was too much. I didn’t want to hear it any more. Her words were like little needles being pushed into my fingers.
“You know I’m right, Ness. This isn’t you. Shake off the sad girl bullshit and take control for once like you did before you met the dickhead Kelvin.”
My breathing leveled and I relaxed. I remembered the person Zoe was talking about. I’d let Kelvin turn me into a dependent frail thing which was nothing like the woman he had met. The Vanessa he had met was fierce and hard as steel but now it was as if I was made of mush.
“I’m fine now.” I said, wiping my eyes.
Zoe wasn’t convinced. She held on to me as I stayed folded in the same position. She patted my hair whispering into my ear until I eventually fell asleep.
***
I woke up with Zoe’s arms wrapped around my body. She felt warm and cozy and I instinctively drew into her body. She had always been there for me when I needed her and even on rare occasions where I thought I didn’t need her but I did.
It was Saturday and I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do with my day. Zoe said I could stay over for as long as I wanted but I was going to be there for a week until I found an apartment. I’d been foolish enough to think what I had with Kelvin was real. Real enough to move in with him and out of my previous apartment.
Zoey woke up about half an hour after I got up. There were bags underneath her eyes and she seemed to be pretty worn out.
“You good?”
She stretched and yawned doing both at the same time. “Sure. Why not?”
“You look like hell.”
“You don’t look so hot yourself.” She pointed out.
I sighed walking over to the mirror. My face was pale and puffy with eyes that were still swollen. I looked like I’d been crying for a lifetime.
After a shower I was feeling like myself again; partially like myself. There was still an empty feeling. The awareness that I was going to be lonely from now on. Kelvin had been feeling that void for a long time.
Zoe walked around the place in her panties. Her t**s swung freely and I envied her ability to let loose without holding back. I’d given that up when I let Kelvin play a major role in my world.
Stop thinking about him! Forget his f*****g name if possible…
“So do you have any plans?”
I tried to answer her question but I couldn’t because I hadn’t thought about it. My weekends usually involved hot sweaty s*x with Kelvin -
Stop it! You’re doing it again.
“Oh right. You got nothing.” Zoe said, walking up to me.
She hugged me from behind. Her pointy n*****s poked my back.
“Dude. Your n*****s are poking holes into me.”
She added more pressure to the hug. “f**k you. Stop complaining and be in the moment.”
I grunted. It was nice to know I had someone that still cared about me in the world. We stayed there for some minutes and then she jumped squealing.
“I have an idea.” She spun and danced as she did. “We are going over to Cole’s.”
“Cole? The same Cole you’ve been keeping on ice?”
“He melted the ice berg like a month ago ― and some.” She winked. “Get yourself updated, Ness.”
“So you’re f*****g now?”
She nodded with a satisfied groan.
“I thought you said he looked like Goliath had been resurrected for a quick rematch?”
“He still looks that way.” She sighed. “But damn he can f**k!”
This was followed by Zoe’s fake moaning sounds.
“You’re ridiculous.” We both laughed as she rammed into me making us fall on the bed.
We laughed and rolled on the bed pushing each other and pulling our hair. It was the most fun I had in a while. Zoe really was the best.
“So are you coming along?”
I shrugged. “It’s not like I have much of a choice.”
“Get dressed. If I have to see your t**s for one more second, I’m taking a bite.”
