When I opened my eyes, I saw Aidan again. He seemed even more worn out than before, as though he were more exhausted than I had been, on the verge of wanting to die. But all I felt was irritation, and when I spoke, my voice was barely above a whisper. "Do you like me, Aidan? Are you seriously this pathetic? Does it feel good to fall for a married woman?"
