Chapter 25- Cassandra

“Where is my sister?” Santino growled into the phone. My stomach twisted in fear. Julianna, where the hell is she? My mind was racing a mile a minute. My baby boys both had a concerned look on their little faces. They were worried about their zia. It angered me even more that these two young toddlers were worried. They should not have to experience that emotion at a young age. Giovani told Santino that he took Julianna to dinner last night and brought her home. He walked her into the villa and waited until she walked upstairs. He double-checked all the doors and set the security system on as he left. He walked to his apartment out back, but got a message that the warehouse in town was broken into. That is where he is at now. Turns out a dummy alarm. He was about to call out to Santino back when he got Santino’s call asking about Julianna. Gerardo walked out of the kitchen with Sarah. “Good morning, everyone. What is going on?” I turned to race upstairs to check my security monitors for any information on Julianna. Santino explained to Gerardo on what was happening. Gerardo was up in my office within minutes. We backed up the security feed and caught a shadow in the kitchen entrance where we receive deliveries. You could barely make out the shadow. It moved very slowly. But a small, petite shadow. I knew it was Dahlia. The way she carried herself. The way she walked. Her mannerisms. The question was, how did she get Julianna out of the house. Gerardo checked the security feed from the back of the house. Someone was at the back door. It looked like they knocked and Julianna came downstairs, into the kitchen. She must have thought that it was Giovanni knocking. We saw as she opened the back door, and the shadowed person raised her arm. She must have tranquilized Julianna. We watched as Julianna’s body slowly fell against the kitchen door and laid on the floor. Someone else came into the kitchen, scooped up Julianna’s body and both left, closing the door. My heart was racing. Why would she take Julianna? Giovanni was livid. “My sunshine, they dare touch what is mine?” “Do what you must to get my sister back. Giovanni, call our friend. We will need his services immediately,” Santino called out as he headed for his office. I dialed my best source and friend. “Well, hello my friend. It seems that I am quite popular these days.” “Damion, Dahlia took Julianna. I need your help.” “Send me whatever security feed you have. Also, if it indeed is Dahlia, she had to have had help to carry Julianna out of the house. “Victoria should be there within the hour. When your husband called me, I knew Vic was the only one that I could send that would fit in and help you filter out your mole. You know that she will do whatever you need to do.” “Thank you, Damion. How is Silvia?” “She is quite pampered and not leaving my sight. I have another call. You take care and let me know if you need anything else.” “Love you guys. Will do.” Santino came out of his office with wide angry eyes. “My father is in the hospital. Dahlia shot him. My father decided to take matters into his own hands and confront Dahlia about the paternity. He found out about the IVF and her losing the fetus. He also found out about the second donor as the donor’s body was planted in my father’s warehouse. Dahlia was trying to set up my father as a jealous partner. My father’s capo had recordings of Dahlia.” “Oh, my gosh. How is your father?” “He is in surgery now. I need to go to him.” “Go, my love. We will have everything here on lock down. Giovanni, go and do what you need to do. My friend, Victoria, will be here any minute now.” “Who is Victoria?” “A story for later. We all need to move. Time is of the essence. My sister is becoming more unhinged day by day. She is not getting anything to go her way, and she tends to have temper tantrums when this happens,” I growled. My phone pinged, and I knew who was at the gate. I called security, and they sent my friend to my front door. “She is here. I will bring her into your office.” “Dona, please allow me.” Gerardo was up and already heading to the foyer. I stood next to Santino as my very good friend Victoria walked in and smiled at me. “Vic, oh my gosh, it has been but a minute. I am so glad to see you.” I rushed to her and hugged her. “Sister, you should have told me sooner about Dahlia and her antics. I would have buried her a long time ago. What can I help with?” “Santino, this is Victoria Campenella. Also, known as Vic. Vic, this is my husband, Santino Fusco.” I gleamed up at my husband. “Greetings.” Santino gestured to sit on the chair in front of his desk and he held his hand out to me to sit on his lap. “Vic, Dahlia had taken Santino’s sister, Julianna. We believe she had help from someone to carrier Julianna out of the house. Here is the security footage from the kitchen.” I showed Vic my laptop. She watched it intently. “We’ll get to the pleasantries later. Street footage?” she asked. I loved that she was forward and blunt. She has an abrasive personality a lot of people cannot deal with. But I love her more than my sister. I pulled up video footage. We scoured the clips and found where someone had pulled into a neighbor’s driveway and parked, but no one entered that house. Someone walked away from the house heading into a grove across the street, next to our house. “Someone had access to the back of the property. Do you have security footage?” “Gerardo, cameras on the back of the property?” Santino asked. “Checking Boss. Dammit, a camera was scrambled. Here the garden camera shows there is a shadowy figure and a second one bigger one.” Gerardo murmured. “It took less than three minutes. Dammit.” Gerardo was pissed. “Not to mention, someone got past security and into my house.” Santino was angry. “We will work on that next, my love. Right now we need to get Julianna back,” I calmly said as I hugged him around his waist. I looked back at Victoria, she smiled as she adjusted herself in the chair with my laptop. I knew what she was going to do. I already had blockers set up on my laptop so no one could track my laptop digitally. “Give me ten minutes to access all the security feed in this area and go back into the city,” Victoria whispered. She was a specialized hacker. She could access any system and get what she wanted. She was actually banned by the government from using any computers since she hacked into the Pentagon when she was twelve because she was bored. Five minutes later. “Gotcha b***h!” Victoria growled. “Here, they carried your sister out and came back through the grove. They got back into that car that they parked. They failed to realize that the house had a ring camera that recorded the license plate and looked at Dahila’s own car. Mercedes EQB 300. I hate those pretend SUV’s. But, anyhow, I have tracked her car to an address fifteen minutes from here. Who’s coming with me?” Vic smiled at all of us. “I am, let’s go.” Giovanni was already at the door and waiting. “Gerardo, lock down as soon as we exit the house. And I mean, complete lock down,” Santino said as he opened his desk and unlocked a box that held his gun in it. “We will be back with Julianna. My love, I need you to stay here with our boys.” Santino kissed me, and he started to leave the office. “But I should be the one to go. I…” I began to protest. “No! You know why. Nothing can happen to you and my baby,” Santino pointed. I hesitated, “Please come back to me.” I reached up to kiss him again. “Always.” Santino kissed me again and kissed our boys. He whispered to them, “Take care of mommy for me. Okay.” They both nodded. It was so strange to see the change in the little faces as Santino walked out of the room. They were just babies, and now they looked like little soldiers as they sat on the sofa watching me. “Okay babies, you want breakfast?” They both nodded and slid off the sofa and walked to me holding out their little hands. I took their hands as we walked to the kitchen. I made tea for myself and coffee for Gerardo and, since the boys are now drinking regular milk, they wanted chocolate milk instead.
