I woke up with a new energy. I know I need to tackle the Dahlia mess. I just need inside her doctors’ records. I know just the person to finesse her doctor. My college roommate, Sarah, she is a nurse practitioner. I know that Dahlia’s doctor is at Chicago Medical, upper eastside.
Sarah ran into Dahlia a couple of years ago, when Dahlia went to her gynecologist for her results of medical issue. Sarah assists many doctors at the hospital. She is on staff for filling in for short staff. Also, she was the one that processed Dahlia test results for the Doctor Burma.
Doctor Burma gave Dahlia the results and explained everything to her on the IVF and her medical condition. Sarah knew of mine and Dahlia’s strained relationship. Let’s just say that Sarah is on my side.
Sarah and I were the ones that helped the girls at our college when one was beaten by her boyfriend. Another was r***d as she left the campus library. We did not stand-by and do nothing. We did everything in our power to find retribution for all of the women, where the law failed.
I got up and went to the boy’s room to check on them. They were both sleeping in their cribs. Julianna was asleep on the large chaise lounge that Santino purchased. It was huge and soft. I smiled at my sister-in-law. She will make a wonderful mother. She is so attentive with the boys.
I walked back to my room. I got a change of clothes ready. I went into the huge shower and turned on the rainwater shower. I washed my hair and scrubbed every part of my body. I got my soft, fluffy towel and dried my body.
I applied my lotion and hair cream. I put my hair up in a messy bun, then got dressed. I was starving again. Maybe my appetite was coming back since we were able to find Henry’s wife and the other missing women.
I went back into the boy’s room and both were missing. I found their pajamas in the hamper and the housekeeper has just come into the room and emptied the diaper bin. She told me that Miss Julianna was downstairs with the boys getting breakfast ready for their momma.
I walked out of the room after thanking her. I smiled as I pictured the boys learning how to make breakfast. Oh God! What a mess they will leave. I laughed and picked up my pace to the kitchen.
I was almost to the kitchen when someone grabbed and arm and yanked me into the closet by the front entry. I smiled as I recognized Santino’s scent. “Where are you running off to my love?” He growled in my neck.
Damn, I think I just had an orgasm. This man makes met so wet. I hope he cannot smell my arousal. I cannot believe that we are making out in the closet. Like two horny teenagers, but this is how this man makes me feel.
I was used to being ignored in my family. I was just ‘plain-jane’ in high school and college. This man makes me feel like the ultimate prize. Santino’s hands are all over my body. I shiver and clutch him close to my body. I never want to let go.
We are so enraptured with each other until we hear a little knock on the door. “Momma, dah-dah…open”
I clamp my hand over my mouth and Santino smiles and pecks my lips, “to be continue.” He whispered n my ear and made me shudder. Damn, him. He opens the door when we are both presentable.
“Really, brother? The closet? You have a bedroom, geez!” Julianna is scolding her brother, the mafia godfather. He smiles and chuckles at her as he takes my hand and leads me to the dining room. I am ravenous for breakfast…and my husband.
My husband? That brings my thoughts back to my sister. “I will be working in my office on my..uh…sister. I need to be rid of the thorn in my heel once and for all. I have my family. My family, that she will not take from me. I am done with her crap. She will regret the day she crossed me.”
“Damn, baby. You are exciting to watch when you are pissed. What do you need?” Santino asked as he sipped his coffee.
“Good morning, Dona. I have the files and the information that you asked for last night. Also, I have additional information from my sources. You will find very, very interesting.” Gerardo murmured as he walked into the room.
“Gerardo, sit and have breakfast.” I took a file from his hand and sipped my tea and devoured my breakfast. I was so hungry, I did not realize I scarfed down my entire plate and still reached for a bowl of fruit.
Luca, our chef, smiled and nodded when I accepted the fresh cream that he had made. He placed a dollop of cream on top of my fruit bowl. I tasted the fresh cream and fruit, I closed my eyes and wondered where this man has been.
I could smell the vanilla bean and taste the light sprinkle of cinnamon that really made the cream.
“Luca, I love it. Thank you. I really needed that. You are awesome.” I stood and stepped to him and gave him a huge hug. He stilled and nodded when I stepped back.
Santino smiled and nodded to Luca. Luca smiled and left the room head raised high. Gerardo smirked, “Dona, he will be at your beck and call now.”
“Never, I would never do that to anyone. I despise my sister for treating people like trash. She treated me like trash. Now, dear cousin you have armed me with a multitude of ammunition. I must get to work, after you have eaten, join me please.” I kissed Santino and whispered in his ear and licked his earlobe, “Do you promise to continue our closet tour?”
He smirked and nodded quietly as Gerardo chuckled and looked down at his plate of food.
While I checked on the boys and Julianne, she had them in the back patio planting flowers. I loved it, they could get their hands dirty and learned to use their hands. They were making more of a mess than planting flowers, but all three were laughing. Music to my ears.
As I walked to my office, which my husband so conveniently had built for me next to our bedroom, I was thinking about my mother, Dahlia and my father.
Then, I thought back to when my mother gave birth to my baby brother, Gabriel. He passed away when he was three. We were told that he contracted a virus and passed away in his sleep. My parents are devastated. Our housekeepers were the ones that kept us going.
The fed us, made flower arrangements, they were there helping the doctors as my mother fell into deep depression. They helped Me and Dahlia get ready for school. They helped with everything and to hear and se Dahlia treat them like trash. I would not stand for it. Dahlia and I were constantly arguing about common decency.
I set high morals as I studied law, in my first year of college. Then began picking up more and more interest in the cyber network. I picked up things very fast. My professors advised me to take on cyber network operations. Which lead me to studying programming, tech and engineering. I was so engrossed in it I took summer classes and night classes to earn several degrees.
I graduated at the top of my classes. Dahlia ridiculed me for having intelligence and using it. I flipped her off and walked away from our conversation.
I though back to when I hugged Luca, he reminded me of an uncle that I never had. Santino smiled. Gerardo chuckled. No one in the house said a word. I know the employees are not used to physical contact, but this is me when I really appreciate someone.
My sister would never do such a thing. She always said, never touch the help. Which is cruel to people that live with you and make your life easier. My mother would remember birthdays, anniversaries, special dates to anyone that worked in our home. Until she passed away just after my tenth birthday.
Dahlia resented me when I thanked the staff for every effort made to make my mother’s funeral beautiful. She told our father that she was the one who instructed the staff on what to do. He believed her.
I walked into my office, “Let’s do this. No more sister of mine. I told you that you were nothing to me anymore. Now let’s go back and clean your mess. You will not win this time!” I said to myself as I powered on my computers.
