CHAPTER EIGHT Camille found the ride to be very sparse, and the water was gentle and peaceful. As Camille and Palmer settled down on the topside sitting area, still using Jefferson’s phone to view the footage of Sunday’s ride, they were told by the captain—who finally introduced himself as Sal Miller—that there were only fifty-two people on board. In terms of scenery, the ride didn’t offer much. There were a few businesses and landmarks of note, but this was not the sort of riverboat tour that called out every single thing they passed.
