Chapter 2 Her daughter

1489 Words
Five years later. The door of a werewolf prison in Washington slowly opened. A skinny woman slowly walked out of the prison. She had dry and jaw-length short hair. If anybody could give her a close look, then they would easily get to see a long scar on her fair forehead. It was very ugly. She tried to adjust her vision with the long-lost sunshine shining on her face. It took a while for her to get accustomed to it. Thus, he subconsciously covered her face to block the sunlight in front of her. That woman was Aaliyah. She was completely different now. The sunlight was too dazzling for her. Then Kiley Gage walked up to Aaliyah and said softly, "Ms. Capper, congratulations on getting free from werewolf prison. Remember the lesson and now be a new and better person." Kiley then returned Aaliyah's things to her with twenty dollars in her hand. "Thank you, Ms. Gage," Aaliyah politely showed her gratitude and took her things over. There was a faint smile on her face and then she turned to leave. Kiley looked at the retreating back of Aaliyah and could not stop herself from sighing. Aaliyah had been in werewolf prison for five years and was no longer a socialite in Washington, who was charming and dazzling in the past. She doesn't have any talents now. Previously, she was famous for playing piano and for her dazzling dance. Unfortunately, everything was different now, so as she. Maybe she might not be able to dance and play piano now. After five years of contact, Kiley felt that Aaliyah was not as indecent as what was written in the newspaper. She didn't know what exactly happened but her instinct was saying a different story now. Undoubtedly she was puzzled. On the other hand, Aaliyah used the 20 dollars that Kiley gave her to take a four-hour car ride to Seattle. She went to Ellie Hadden's hometown. Ellie's neighbor handed something to Aaliyah, as well as a girl about four years old. The child was very cute. She had a round face and was very beautiful. Her eyes were somewhat similar to Aaliyah's. After thanking Ellie's neighbor, Aaliyah took the child downtown and went straight to the cemetery. She was looking at the photo of her grandfather, Carlton Capper, on the tombstone, then she struggled to kneel on the ground. In an instant, tears streamed down her face, she cried, "Grandpa, I'm sorry." Back then, when Carlton knew that she had been sentenced to five years in werewolf prison, he felt so helpless that he got a heart attack and passed away. She wasn't able to see her grandfather in his last time. And that was the biggest regret in her life. Aaliyah's father had even expelled her from the Newmoon Pack and deprived her of her right to inherit the family property. Aaliyah then bowed three times and dug a hole next to Carlton's grave. She buried the things that Ellie's neighbor had given her and covered the ground with dirt. After bidding farewell to Carlton, she originally wanted to go and see Luna Jessica, but she did not know where her grave was. So she thought Luna Jessica must have been buried in The Bloodmoon Pack's graveyard. There was a little girl beside Aaliyah and she held that little girl's hand. As they started moving ahead, the little girl asked timidly, "Mom, where are we going?" Aaliyah was stunned for a moment before she replied with a smile, "Alice, I will take you to a place where you will not be sad anymore. Do you want to go there?" After listening to that, a soft giggling sound came and the same little girl said, "Alice? Is this my name? I didn't have a name before." Aaliyah was surprised, but there was nothing she could do. So she said, "From now on, your name is Alice Capper." Meanwhile, she hoped and wished that her daughter, Alice could have a happy childhood. "That's good. I have a name. I was told before that my mother would give me a nice name. It turns out to be true," Alice smiled and caressed her mother's arm with her face. Meanwhile, when Aaliyah saw her daughter's innocent smile, she couldn't stop herself from smiling. Now all she wanted was to leave Washington with Alice, so that she could forget everything that happened in her past. But Aaliyah had no money. When she was put in werewolf prison, she only had the ring on her finger and the ID card she carried with her. The ring was her wedding ring with Alpha Landen. She looked at the big diamond ring in her hand, but there were mixed emotions in her eyes. "Alice, let's go," Aaliyah took her daughter, Alice away from the cemetery and went to the city center. Then found a*****e that acquired diamond rings and took her diamond ring out. However, she did not expect the ring to be so valuable. The diamond ring was worth 30 thousand dollars. "Miss, the quality of your diamond is first-class. Are you going to sell it?" After hearing that shop assistant, Aaliyah's eyebrows knitted together. Then she smiled indifferently and said, "Yes. Thank you." Since Aaliyah had broken the bond with Alpha Landen, there was no use of keeping that ring with her. After she sold the ring, she was left with nothing that had anything to do with Alpha Landen. After getting the money, Aaliyah bought clothes for herself and Alice. Then she took Alice out of the mall. And just then, a Rolls-Royce Phantom passed by. The driver slammed on the brakes because somebody came in front of the car suddenly. "I'm sorry, Alpha Landen. Someone suddenly came out. I didn't notice that person," the driver apologized with a trembled voice. While sitting in the back seat, Alpha Landen was holding his laptop. He raised his head and looked at the driver with a sharp look in his eyes. The driver was so scared that he didn't know what to say. Just as Alpha Landen was about to say something, he suddenly saw a familiar figure. When he put down his laptop and was about to look at that figure again, it had already disappeared. For a second he thought that he was hallucinating. "Start the car," he ordered in a cold voice. After the driver got the order, he quickly drove, and didn't dare to delay it. However, Alpha Landen, who was sitting at the back, had a drastic change in his expression. He began to feel inexplicably agitated. The beams of sunlight came in through the window pane. His facial features, which looked like they were carved with knives, looked even more scary. His eyes were as black as ink. Alpha Landen didn't know why he still thought of that woman even after five years. He held his chin in his hands, lost in thought. Then his phone rang suddenly. It interrupted his trace of thought. He looked at the screen. He pursed his thin lips , but a smile adorned his lips when he saw the caller ID. In no time he picked up the call and said, "Alyssa, what's wrong?" "Alpha Landen, my feet are much better now. I will be back next month. I can also hold my cello concert," she said. "I see," Alpha Landen said indifferently, "I should have stayed with you, but something happened to the Bloodmoon Pack." "Don't worry, I understand that. Alpha Landen, I'm much better now. You don't have to worry about me. Just remember to pick me up when the time comes," Alyssa's voice was very gentle. "OK." Alpha Landen still replied indifferently. The next moment he hung up the phone. Then he raised his head and leaned his head against the back seat. His eyes were closed tightly , but for some reason, he got flashes of that night. The scene of that woman covered in blood crying that she didn't harm his mother and Alyssa appeared in his mind. He got a very strange feeling but didn't know what was wrong. On the other hand, Aaliyah took Alice to Los Angeles. It was a coastal city and was very beautiful. She rented a house near the sea. Although the house was small, it was enough for her and Alice to live. Besides, there was a kindergarten not far from home, so it was perfect for her daughter to go to kindergarten. Although Aaliyah now had 30 thousand dollars in her bank account after selling the ring on her. But it was still not enough to support her future expenses, so she had to go to work. However, because Aaliyah had been in werewolf prison and had a criminal record, no company wanted to hire her. Just as she was engrossed in her thoughts, Alice's teacher called, "Alice has fainted."
